@dlchief58 I can see you guys are very passionate about hoping other people don't get what they want. I think your view of this subject is slightly biased, and I don't see them saying "no we'll never have PvE servers" in that tweet, and at the same time, it doesn't sound like they are planning on full on PvE servers, either. I'm the kind of person that requires facts and evidence, and I haven't seen anything about whether people will / will not be rewarded with gold/rep etc. on these private servers they say are on the road map.
I just want to ask again nicely, please don't state things as fact when it is very unclear what will happen. You don't know what they are planning, and even if you did, plans change. You're certainly not going to draw new players to this game by being aggressively unpleasant towards other players.
Wow, you sure do like to twist things and ignore what is right in front of your face. It has nothing to do with me "hoping other people don't get what they want" as opposed to those few people changing the game I and others love for the worse by sucking up resources, money and time that could be better spent making actual improvements and additions rather than remaking the whole game for a few (yes few) people who don't "get" what the game is all about.
You can stick your head in the sand and ignore all the clues left out there by Rare through their statements (and silence) on the subject, but doesn't change it. Neate said farming servers don't sit well with the developer early on (i.e. PvE servers or private servers with progression), one of the other team members flat out said "no" on Twitter when asked if PvE servers were coming fairly recently (I'd link or post it if I could find it, I'm sure someone else will help me out on that). There is quite a bit of evidence against PvE servers ever coming, have not seen one thing even implying it is a thing that Rare is considering.
While I have nothing against private servers (actually am for this), I am opposed to progress or achievements tracking in them. They should be just for fun, events, practice or content creation. While they have said nothing outright about the progression on these, it is easily inferred from their past comments on the subject that progression is likely not happening on private servers. It goes against their core vision of the game as the tweet above states.
I've seen many a good game get ruined because developers listened to a vocal minority rather than sticking to their initial vision. I don't want to see this game fall into the same trap.
So while there is nothing definitive stated, everything the developer has stated on the subject is leaning towards the stance that PvE servers aren't happening (I can almost guarantee this as it would be an expensive endeavor, along the lines of making a new game with little chance of return on investment) and that progress will not happen on private servers.
