I've heard tales of pirate ships at outposts disappearing in the blink of an eye to make room for new pirate ships joining the server.
Today, it happened to my brigantine crew. We had just finished selling most of our loot from 2 forts when our ship blinked out of existence for seemingly no reason.
To our horror, along with the ship, we lost our lvl. 5 OoS emmisary flag that we were literally seconds away from pulling down. 15,000 potential gold just gone...
Moments later, a sloop appeared, blinking into existence. A crewmate took a mermaid to bring the ship back so that we could salvage our storage crate which was loaded with supplies. Meanwhile, the other crewmate and I had to stall the pirate legend spawning in. I camped the tavern while he used the PL's own firebombs against his sloop.
I don't like camping new pirates, but we had no choice - we had to protect our investment.
Eventually, our brig showed up and finished the job. The lone PL disappeared.
This phenomenon is becoming more common from what I can tell, and I think something should be done about it. To emphasize how often it happens, I want you to post about your experience here, if you're unfortunate enough to encounter it like I just did.
