As much as I love Sea of Theives, I've pretty much been always a solo player. Now with this new respawn mechanic, it takes a huge blow to all Solo players. This game was at it's best with the original respawn (load time could be better) but it made the game fair. Now you're completely screwing over Solo players and have to be forced to have a crew now because off the huge disadvantage. Here's an example, I'm playing by myself like usual and come across a Brigg or a Galleon with a full crew. I must kill ALL 3-4 pirates within the 15 second mark period or else if within that time, their friends can just revive them. BOOM! Doing it all over again and if I die, I can't be picked up. And if I kill 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 players in that crew, they can just keep picking up their buddies and constantly troll me. Nobody in their right mind asked for a respawn mechanic. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. This update is a huge mistake.
Respawning creates HUGE advantages
@kodyreaper666 its not that bad, the ferry times are shorter and the enemy has to spend the time to revive their friends

They have reduced ferry times.
When crew need to respawn it takes a few seconds giving us an opportunity to bmunderbuss them. Its actually gonna make my time a little easier as a solo
This is, like the 4th time I'm explaining this, but here goes:
The new REVIVE mechanics actually make it EASIER for solo-sloopers, and HARDER for larger crews.
Why?
Because it gives them more options and forces a critical choice on the larger crew.
If an enemy pirate chooses to RESPAWN rather than REVIVE, then nothing changes compared to what we have now, aside from shorter respawn times (that applies to everyone), so still hard, because it's 3v1, but you have more time than if you had if they were revived.
However, if another enemy pirate decides to revive his crewmate, then for 4 precious seconds, it's technically 2v1 - much better odds. That's also 2 fewer pirates that aren't:
- Fighting back.
- Repairing their ship.
- Sailing the ship.
- Attacking your crew.
- Healing.
During that 4 seconds, you can:
- Attack the reviver.
- Damage their ship.
- Heal.
- Escape.
- Reload.
- Attack others.
- Set a trap.
Furthermore, even if they do revive him, he only comes back with 1/4th of his health, so he's only 1 shot away from being knocked out again - this means that if he doesn't want to meet the Ferryman, then he needs to waste even more time to find and eat food.
For the larger crew, choosing to revive is a high-risk option with very little reward in turn.
Don't waste those 4 precious seconds!

I agree and would add.
When a ship is sunk, it should respawn on a different server.
I am done with fotd, tired of spending several hours sinking the same 2-3 ships.
I end up leaving because I don't have time to keep up the fight. This would ruin it for yourself also, because if you sink at an fort or ship fleet you can't no longer contest it because you got server merged, so no I don't agree.
@mentimjojo honestly, I could restart the fotd on a new server faster than I can run 3 gallons off of a server.
The server hopping is real though. Honestly, I don't see a fix for it. Basically we have an arena on the high seas now. I imagine after the update it will be worse. I probably just won't mess with the fotd anymore.

You probably just have badluck, we did fotd this week 4 times in a row without selling in between, never saw one ship
@KoDyReApEr666 I can't tell you how many times I've heard this. "Oh, this update makes things too hard for solo sloopers!" That's been literally every single last update since Launch. The Megalodon. Skeleton Ships. Cursed Cannonballs. The Devil's Roar. Every last update, at least one person has said that the changes are going to kill solo slooping.
