Trolls ruining the game.

So you mean to tell us you had SEVEN hours of peacefulness, got sunk, and willingly stayed on the server you were in, knowing that a specific crew was hunting you down (especially now that you had nothing else to lose and no reason to stay on the server)?

Player base is low? Check your stats bub as the game has ranked as the 14th most played game on Xbox for the past 2 weeks and consistently been around the #20 spot for well over a year. Hardly the sign of a game having a low or dropping player base, especially one that is over 2 years old.

Stop making up "facts" that you cannot back up. It does not help your point in any way.

Exactly! Although I agree that sinking someone more than once is in bad taste, those people are simply the bad guys in a game where the players make the characters. If you find the bad guys and you can't win, find a new server. Sure it can be frustrating but not worth get worked up over after having fun for 7 hours.

@roverandom5158 if you dislike the game and this community so much, why are you here posting on the forums still? True honest curiosity. There's no need to be negative with your responses to the OP

If you're constantly being attacked by a crew, your best bet would be to switch servers. I've never ran into any Ayers who were able to hunt me down repeatedly and sinking me each time, so I feel as if this post is exaggerated.

Sometimes the best move is to swallow your pride and leave the server, and start again.

OOOH IDK LACK OF PLAYERS!? wooooah what a thought. i hope the player base does come back. again its a great game. it just needs some balancing. I am not a new player. i have a lot of time in the game so i am speaking from a place of love for the game. never once did i say i hate the game. and no 7 hours of game play of having loads of fun did not ruin it. it was the extra 2 getting trolled that ruined it for me and my friend. they had nothing better to do then kill us over and over. and no we had our alliance flag up. Add PVE servers for those that dont want the PVP. with all the updates there is enough stuff to surprise you to get that OOOH GOD shock. something for new players like my friend to ease into the game. she he stopped playing until i got him to start again.

Lack of players? Hardly, the game is currently the 14th most played game on Xbox and has been for the past 2 weeks. It has consistently been around the top 20 most played game on the platform for well over a year now.

People attacking you out of the blue is not "trolling". How do they know you are new? How would they know whether you have treasure on the ship unless they board you? Just because they aren't playing the same as you does not make their play style any less valid, there does not need to be a justification for people to attack you - there certainly isn't for any of the AI threats in the game. Treat them as you would any AI threat and leave your emotions out of it and you will do better.

The game is PvPvE - other players are as much a part of the game as the environmental/AI threats. Either learn to deal with them (either by besting, negotiating or avoiding) or come to the conclusion this may not be the game for you rather than trying to change the CORE concept of the game to suit your desires. You are in effect asking for a different game.

They are going to STEAM because microsoft is committed to getting its games into as many homes as it can. And steam reviews wont matter, this is the game they are building. I am looking forward to the influx of new victims for my pirate to sink/rob. This is not a safe world to play in, you have to understand that you can lose it all. When you lose, I suggest accepting it. If you are getting spawn camped at an outpost when you spawn, just start a new boat.

@wulfrik108 My best advice to you would be to find another server in situations like that. I remember my crew was in a somewhat similar position. We had a galleon try to sink us near an outpost and steal our treasure, we ended up sinking them,killing them and cashed our treasure in. Well we see them heading back to us just as we were getting ready to leave the outpost so we yet again sunk them. Then they came at us again when we were at a fort stocking up more so we sunk them yes a third time. Ok so we figured that was the end of it so we decided to head out to do a voyage, guess who we saw again coming our way? Yep the same ship. We decided to leave the server and join a new one,we are not PvP'ers just wanted to do our voyages. This was back when game just came out. I think back in day the spawn islands wernt so far from where you were sunk so thats why they kept easily coming back.

Anyways moral of story, if you are having repeat issues with a crew just leave. Thats one thing about online gaming that is so much better than real life, easier to get away when approached by an a hole

Maybe just inexperienced not too stupid. I think alot of these type of posts come from people who have not spent many hours on the game. If they would spend more time I think they would find ways to avoid most of the craptastic situations they find themselves in.

@targasbr pretty sure 1 crew killing another crew for no apparent reason over and over again is the very definition of trolling. I get it "sea of THIEVES" "Pirate game" and all that nonsense. But when there is clearly nothing to gain from killing someone. Continuing to do so is toxic as hell.

Player population seems fine, judging by the number of Xbox LFG groups that I commonly see.

@targasbr bro, common. Its article 5 in the "pirate code" which clearly nobody follows anyways. Tell me what is there to gain from that crew killing them repeatedly in a short window of time? Like I get it, 1st time no issues, 2nd time sure why not, but 3 or more? At that point its trolling man. If it isn't then idk what you consider trolling....
