After spending enough time in this game, I discovered the following thing: how many shameless players play this game. For example: I fight a skeleton fleet, a kraken or a megaladon alone and at that moment other players attack me using the fact that I was left without cores, food and boards. Instead of helping and hanging the flag of the alliance, people prefer to take pleasure in finishing off a helpless player, showing this all their real essence - an inglorious shameful, acting from the back. Do you really like being such [expletive removed - attempting to bypass the profanity filter is against the Community Guidelines]? I am surprised how many such nasty people are around. Of course, there are normal people who understand that to finish off one weak wounded player is a shameful action and there is nothing better than an honest fight. But there are very few such people, I would say 1 out of 10. I propose adding to the game new achievements, the “team of shame” or something like that, if players with a full team attack one injured player without provisions. And vice versa, add the title “Worthy Warrior” or something like that if the player attacks most of his peers in most of his actions. This would encourage players to choose a decent rivalry. I am surprised that this game glorifies such acts - it is a shame and shamelessness. I never allow myself to do such things, even in games. After spending enough time in this game, I discovered the following thing: how many shameless players play this game. you make it sound like someone killed your grandmother you are helpless because you choose to be instead of dropping your weapons screaming "alliance! friendly!" scurry those feet over to a cannon and defend yourself learn to be good at both criterias not just pve while you can focus pve but knowing how to defend yourself is a vital tool
i never get caught out this way, because i always assume players are hostile. as far as i am concerned, any ship that approaches me is looking to pvp, so i give them pvp.
if you arent comfortable with pvp, give up voyages for a week and do nothing but pvp. just spend the week practising. you will have no loot on board, so the stakes will be pretty low. but you may pick up some additional skills and confidence and actually come to find yourself digging the pvp aspect of the game.
@eblanito Grab more supplies before getting in too deep next time. You make it sound like other players have some kind of supply meter that shows up when they spot your ship. Give it a try next time. Look at another ship and determine their supply level. While you are at it, determine the amount of loot they have on board. You will find it is not possible for other crews to know your situation, plans, or level of hostility towards them. If you just killed the kraken or defeated a fleet then they could guess you have loot on board. They have every right to try to take it from you.
Its what pirates do in this game 🤷♂️
But well i enjoy helping others.. this weeki did so much good i gift all legend loot i completed 50 to other crews, i sailed into ink help fighting kraken, i saved boats from skelly galleons by ramming and bucketing them so the players could escape.
So sometimes you can be lucky and players do help out 🙋♂️

Seriously, so much indignation and disdain from OP towards something totally normal in a pirate game. OP better get used to it if he insists on playing alone, people won't give him charity because he chose to play hard mode and isn't ready for it. It's like people have no clue what game they bought. A PVEVP open world game? GASP Why am I being attacked?? How dare those people?
Take what you can, give nothing back, mateys!
Think the problem has less to do with other players attacking, and more with thefact that the game sometimes throws too much at you like kraken, meg, and cursed ship all at the same time. If it was only one active battle and then the other enemy crew attack, then it would be a different and much better story. The enemy crew only took advantage of a less than adequate experience from you, which is in perfect logical and challenging parameters for this game, but the problem is that the experience you were in was just bottom level abysmal, and should not be allowed to happen.
I am simply amazed at how ugly people are in themselves making such conclusions and this game is an indicator of the villainy of the players who they are in real life. None of the people who answered my post understood the essence of my idea. Most people do not hesitate to do vile things and it does not matter in what mode PVP or PVE. There are PVP games in which ethics between players are respected, the essence of which is not to play Vile. The point is not the number of supplies, the point is the vile actions. It is especially “sad” to watch mature 30 year old players allowing themselves such things like kids and not having the slightest idea of honor and conscience.

Jeez, dramatic much? You got killed in a video game, nobody burned your house down.
Official dev's stance at 3:00
"People attacking other player's ship, and people stealing items off players and making their getaway and stuff, it's obviously, that's absolutely acceptable as part of Sea of Thieves, it's a shared world, its always been a shared world, it's always been the intent that there is gonna be risks when you are out there on the seas. And so that kind of player behaviour is absolutely within the spirit of Sea of Thieves."
Team up with other people, sharpen your skills, and stick it to us vile people! I dare ya!
@eblanito you sire are the one making all the assumptions, i have helped players and i have slain players, i have been both ruthless and merciless.
You do fleets, you do forts have you ever noticed that they have a giant shaped cloud in the sky ? What do you think that is for ? To just draw you in ? If you do think that then you are wrong everyone kan see those, as that people can hear you shooting cannonballs from miles away, if that is you shooting cannonballs in the water meaning you are most likely fighting a megalodon, which gives loot and is needed for commendations and also could be the shrouded ghost which alot of players have never seen let alone killed.
Yes people could potentially form alliance and take on the challenge with you BUT why would i want to share that loot if i could take it all ?
Its not vile, its not despicable, its this game and thats what it is A GAME.
Me killing you does not make me vile, me steeling the loot you have on board does not make me despicable. If i would go doing that while saying the things in your original post where you bypassed the profanity filter THAT would make me vile and despicable.
Let me teach you one thing, loot is never truly yours unless you where able to sell it.
Also:
Be a good sport. Sea of Thieves is a pirate game, and stealth, stealing and the battles are all part of the fun. All pirates on the seas accept that, but be a good sportsman in both victory and loss.

to put it lightly the pirates life is a dog eat dog world what you describe as vile and honorless where in my opinion theres no such thing as honor amongst thieves and being vile and honorless describes a perfect pirate just team up with another honorless pirate and live the pirates life
Edited the original post for attempting to bypass the profanity filter (which is against the Community Guidelines). Please brush up on the Pirate Code in order to avoid further mod action.
Also to everyone in the thread, tread carefully and treat others with respect, regardless of whether you disagree on the topic. I don't want to have to lock down the thread because we cannot debate in a civil manner.
you are a contradiction to yourself. For example, why are you offended by the "shameful team" title if it is a pirate case ??? You do not understand the essence of my proposal. For me, it’s a shame to attack in the fourth one player fighting an armada of skeletons. Many players are bad 1 vs 1 and the only thing that justifies their purchase of this game is to do such shameful actions. Why are you so offended then? For example, in a Battlefront 2 game in mode 4 vs. 4, if one of the teams lacks a player, then it is considered brave to offer a battle of 1 vs 1, many players agree to wait in line for an honest fight. And for this I propose similar "innovations." You all look like hungry pets fighting for food: D Such actions are primitive. How can you enjoy the gameplay by killing four of them, it's just a shame
I can still be a nice person but a merciless pirate. I and many others here understand what you are complaining about. I for one, am just over it. I can take on multiple threats solo so why can't you? I dont throw a fit and call people names when I lose. I evaluate my mistakes and move on. It's shameful to me that you paint everyone as a villian when they are just playing the game how it's intended.

For real. Some of the people I play with from time to time volunteer with the elderly amidst the current crisis, and they blow off some steam by being pirates in a pirate game, what vile, vile people they are indeed.
I guess every single game that offer good/evil paths must clearly breed either saints or psychopaths, and every single action you make in a virtual world obviously exposes your very soul.
It's a damn game, stop taking defeat so seriously OP, learn from your mistakes and move on. Nobody died, nobody got robbed in real life, nothing got bruised besides egos.
Good luck and fair wind!
@scallywagmango Yeah, I'm new to the game, and even I learned fast giving quarter to folks and it's danger. I have just as much fun watching my ship sink from spawn as I do from doing the same to others. I will not, however, touch people in a raid or encounter. they can do so to me, I wouldn't feel the need to grab my pitchfork, although I'll still get salty about it. All in good fun, though.
@eblanito you are totally off mark of what is a shameful crew and worthy warrior is!
The shameful crew is the one that isn't capable of keeping their supplies up to scrap to keep on going.
The shameful crew is the one that doesn't know how to ensure their own game experience; be it by fleeing, fighting or negotiations.Play as you please, but only a shameful crew blames the world or opponents for their loss instead of reflecting on their own choices that placed them in that situation to begin with. #BeMorePirate
The crew that is attacking are doing so to lay claim on the territory that they want or invade others ships to steal, plunder and sink or simply in search of a worthy warrior to test their skills against. There is no shameful act in this! Pirates are opportunity seekers, provide them with opportunities and they will strike. If you are a worthy pirate you are never helpless!
Skeleton Fleets, Skull forts, Fort of the Damned are all server wide cloud events supposed to attract attention; if you are ill prepared for others to show up that isn't on them that is on you! The events are made to attract others so be prepared and realize the risk you are taking.
Megan shouldn't be to much of an issue to flee if you get interrupted by a different crew. If the Kraken hits you at a wrong time and near another crew and they decide to help the sea life instead of you ... that is a choice they can make. Yet this isn't very common, you can avoid the Kraken completely by understanding her spawn mechanics and to be honest killing it on a sloop doesn't take long, so that window for the other crew is small.
A 'worthy warrior' is a pirate that stocks their ship.
A 'worthy warrior' is a pirate that does not fear battle.
A 'worthy warrior' is a pirate that knows how to sail and keep their ship safe.
A 'worthy warrior' does not make excuses on why they lost, they look at the battle and become better warriors.
A 'worthy warrior' does not care whether the opponents outnumber them or not and knows how to navigate the seas to keep their ship afloat.I might be the only pirate on my crew, the captain of none! Yet by no means am I a helpless or shameful crew and have no wishes of being stated to be one by an achievement! Personally I fight even when solo and even sometimes hunt a vessel that is near; rolling up on Brigantines, Galleons and Sloops! Instead of looking at external factors and what type of pirate they want to be, maybe it is time to reflect on your own abilities, what type of pirate you want to be and start working towards that?
Everything is clear with you all, you are simply defending your failure, I think that not one of you will be able to fight with equal teams, unscrupulous people will always justify their worthlessness.RIP. How do you feel about AFC farming? Why then do people cry and complain about such players in a pirate game?
@eblanito
Play the game, become better at the game, enjoy the game... none of that is what an AFK farmer does! They are a burden on their crew and do not deserve what they are getting as that is off the back of others while they are supposed to be covering them! Your crew is supposed to be the only pirates that you can fully trust and rely on and you cannot rely on someone that is twirling circles!
Not exactly how you compare the people out there sailing, fighting, getting treasure and playing the game with those that leech and do not even bother being part of the world, a part of their crew. The people that join a crew want to not play solo, but to have people to rely on, to work together and not have to deal with the difficulty of solo play. The main message to you is to Play the Game... AFK farmers do not play at all, they have a rubberband.
Not one of us is able to fight an equal team? I fight solo on solo often enough, I fight solo versus teams that are bigger than me.... are those equal fights no not at all I am actually in the disadvantageous position. Unlike you I don't blame their numbers to act like I am helpless and instead learned to sail circles around them!
Recently I even rowed back to a crew that defeated mine, because they gave me the best battle I had in months to thank them for the good fight. Even had a final sword duel before moving on! #BeMorePirate.
I am not sure what failure I am defending, as I am a very capable solo pirate... it seems like you are making excuses for your failure and don't get how people overcame it.
