I have had this idea for the longest time, the Man O War. Hopefully it may or may not arrive to the sea of thieves, but if may appear in the high sea this is how it should work. It would be a modified galleon with 4 sails on of them will be shorter then the others. It would have 3 cannons on the top deck and 3 on the middle deck, and yes it would be bigger then a galleon, but not by much. It would have the curved back portion like the Man O Wars back in the day and at the same time, have that sea of thieves twist that Rare has done with the sloop, brig, and galleon. An advantage that if the Man O War is introduce in game is that bigger crews. So for example, Sloop: 3 man, Brig: 4 man, Galleon: 6 man, Finally Man O War: 8 man. There is another advantage to bigger crews and that is bigger servers. I’m not sure if this is difficult for the developers to do, but if they are able to do it, they should. Another idea is new ship modifications like the Man O War. For example, Ships could have more less cannons or no cannons, but have built in fishing rod’s. If you read this so far, thank you for reading. My gamer tag is TheurgicFox47th for you all to message me and Xbox for you to share you input and ideas.
Man O War?
@theurgicfox47th I hope one day for a bigger boat..but I have the feeling it won't be anytime soon. Mainly because I am to the point now I have so many people that want to play with me but just can't due to being full as soon as I log in..but to be honest even a 8 man boat would not solve my problem..I need a 25 man boat, 25 man boat coming soon? :P
I feel this is a waste of development effort to bring this to the game as anything but an NPC Boss Battle.
This vessel would be completely underutilized due to the level of coordination required, and complete lack of maneuverability and overall control in regards to manning the positions.
Everything would be horribly slow and quickly wear on any crew. After the initial excitement, this ship would be more rare on the seas than the Shrouded Ghost. I doubt many crews would try it more than once if at all :?
@archangel-timmy Timmy, if they ever made a Man O War in SoT, which I said my never happen, It would have the same turning speed as a galleon, like I said “it would be bigger then a galleon, but not by much. Also it would be a uncommon sight on the SoT because, it would could be able to make it through the shroud but that is still be a big COULD, and supposedly The Athena Fortune, the Pirates Lord’s ship and The Burning Blade, Captain Flamehearts ship where both Man O Wars. It would make sense if they where ever in game, but like I said I’m not sure how difficult would it be for the developers to make bigger severs for it to fit in.
@theurgicfox47th This idea has been discussed for a long time. The ability to over power another crew simply with numbers presents a giant imbalance. Also atleast near islands all ships can be similarly maneuverable due to harpoons.
For players I think this is a bad idea. As a PvE threat it would be fantastic.
