I've been trying to test this out but this seems to be possible. I was in a pretty sweet sloop-on-sloop battle the other day.
Our boat had taken on a TON of water, filling up the map room.
I heard the sunk ship "bruuuum" sound at the same time our opponent had chucked a number of firebombs at our ship.
We didn't sink.
In fact, we took buckets of water from our sinking ship to put out the fires and ultimately ended up winning the fight.
Since water seems to disappear when thrown on fire and not fill up your boat...does fire also "prevent" water rising in your ship?
