Mysterious Vessel Cursed Item

  • Nothing mysterious about it at the moment but perhaps this could change.
As we know its a piece of loot that doesnt sell for much.

It could be made to be a cursed item!

To use it simply break it by shooting the vase releasing the curse.

    WHAT DOES IT DO?
Its a gamble. It could be positive and give you a boon to all your supplies granting more wood, cannonballs etc.

Alternatively it could be a bad curse setting your entire ship on fire, open holes on your ship, summon a skellgalleon or kracken on you.

    Use these whenever you wish.
Some ideas for gameplay could be when fleeing ships. A curse could potentially summon a kracken on a persuing ship... Or as a bad curse, disable all your masts!

Basically what i want is this thing to be really good and helpful but also terrifying and devastating.
Where people only use them in desparate times or if they are feeling particularly lucky.

I think it would be really fun. Sat there with your crew arguing whether to break it or not.

  • @daringclarky I think it would be interesting to also be able to play it on other players, even though it can be positive, it would be interesting to see a player receiving a curse, for example. Maybe shoot them from the cannon...

So long as it has a 50/50 chance to help or harm.

Its ideally not to be used as a weapon as such. More of a gamble.
A very powerful and unpredictable gamble.

OP weapons are not the best choice. If the percentage of this happens is 1%, for example, it would be acceptable. But I don't think it is right that random mechanics are put in this type of game.

    Its a cursed vased.
Its a 50/50 gamble to help or harm the ship.

The boons and blows are random.
Being prepared for the negatives will help you survive.

Alternatively use in times of desparation.

Given the harsh unpredictability of effects and who benefits or loses, it would probably be the most balanced thing in the game.

People wouldnt use them sparingly as it could do them harm.
Its not an OP weapon, its a gamble.
Its like hitting that unpredictable block on mario kart. You dont know what it will be or who it will effect.

    I personally like it.
