Lightning Strikes

  • I think we need to lower the amount of times you get struck by lightning in a storm. It happens far too frequently. I can see like once every storm or maybe twice but right now it's crazy how many times you get struck without having a metal object in your hand.

Striking the ship is one thing, but striking the player 10x in 15m is kinda crazy.

  • I agree. It even strikes you when you're inside buildings on outposts. And way too often if you ask me.

  • I agree.

  • @jjblackhat Couldn't agree more. It's a bit of a joke actually. I've died more to lightning than Megs, Skeleton Ships, and Krakens combined.

  • @jjblackhat am I missing something? It's not as often as you say...as long as I keep my sword unequipped it hits me maybe 1 or 2 times max while sailing through the storm..

This this my experience as well
To me reduce it a little when no weapon equipped, but increase it then when someone has a weapon drawn.

It would be cool if a storm is something like a Zone where any combat is heavily influenced by the Lightning Strikes.
People who are chased can maybe use storms to not get overwhelmed that easy because attackers have to deal with heavy Lightning Strikes :D
Why not, it wont safe you forever and you still would get hit without a weapon drawn, but less often.
But for the first Moment it maybe gives you a slight advantage against boarders who come for you with their cutlass between their teeth or a gun ready to fire.
And a Lightning strike should allways kill you 100%.

What would be also cool is to see pirates who get hit by Lightning look like this...
    Cannot find a good gif.
You know when the one hit by Lightning shows his Skeleton and blinks back and forth Skeleton/normal.
Hard to say in english for me :D

    Anyone?

Yeah it has become an annoyance. I understand that the original hit rates were low but maybe it could be tweaked so that it's intense in the eye of the storm and much less so on the outer edges of the storm. Right now it just feels frustrating.

  • I was reading some of the responses (I am a returning player since I heard about the adventure cross play opt out coming (now here)). With that said, I have been struck many of times. I did like some of the responses, these would be great imo:

    1. Strike more closer to the eye of the storm
    2. Strike less when you are not wielding any metal in your hands

It is just too much right now, and being able to control it somewhat by these elements would be great.

  • I wonder how many have their cutlass out, as I see many crewmates have it in hand when there is no reason.

I think it is fine, it is not like it was back at the Festival of the Damned.

Storms can be sailed around, or waited out, and this is perhaps another reason they should be.

take your belt off as well then you won't get struck
