is there a way I can use my friends ship when hes offline? as I would like to stock up on supplies
friends ship
@wallace6532 Ahoy matey!
Ships are shared - nobody actually currently owns them... you could always start a session and stock up on the size of ship required and when your friend joins they can equip their favourite ship cosmetics.
@wallace6532 Treasure is only awarded to players as you cash in and only given to people that are on the ship at that given time... you can always store it onboard until your friend can hop on and acquire your stacked loot.
@wallace6532 Unfortunately not.
Ships are temporary... no one owns them.... and so once you logout anything not cashed in will disappear.
@wallace6532 Yep, everything...
Every time you start a session you start off on a brand new empty of treasure but semi stocked (planks, cannonballs and fruit) ship.
Nothing is kept, nothing is truly ours until it is cashed in into a merchant.
@wallace6532 An example would be:
You dig up a treasure chest... the gold/XP it contains isnt yours until you cash it in at the Gold Hoarder tent. If you leave the game or have it stolen by other pirates, you have lost it.
@wallace6532 Ahoy matey!
Yes, yes, you will...
If you want to gain XP or gold from those resources you will have to sell the fish at the Hunters Call at any Sea Pist. But all other resources like fruit, wood and cannonballs will be lost and reset the next time you log on.
Ships (and their resources) are not persistent and new every time you log off and on.
@wallace6532 It helps you stay alive during your session? I play for around 4 hours a night... it comes in very handy ;D
Don't go overboard with resources if you aren't planning to stay around... and get used to using the outpost to fill the ship every time you start.
@wallace6532 Nope, not yet... Ship captaincy was a planned update but hasn't come yet.
We are merely loaning the boat for the length of our sessions for now.
Although I do feel the potential of a 2 year old ship with all the resources saved from previous sessions may be a bit too OP!
@wallace6532 The boats all start off the same with the same amount of resources dependant on ship type (galleon, brig, sloop)
It is then up to us to customise them at the shipwright to add our own style.
But everyone, in essence, starts off on a level playing field (or sea) to make sure no one has an advantage over any other player.
