Possible Ideas For Future Updates?

    • Maelstroms - Randomly spawns around the map (typically close to storms.) Hard to avoid. If you get too close your ship with start to get pulled in but it will be fairly easy to escape. Would make for some intense ship battles.

    • Cyclones - Similar to the Maelstroms they will spawn around storms and will pull the ship towards it if you sail too close and deal a little bit of damage!

    • Duel Swords - Slightly weaker to the regular sword however it can attack slightly faster. It will take 6 hits to kill and you cannot block

    • Duel Pistols - Slightly weaker than the regular pistol however you can shoot twice as fast. It will take 4 hits to kill and it has a longer reload time.

    • Man-of-War - 6 player ship with cannons both on and below deck. It is really bulky yet really slow. Its turn radius will be quite large due to its size so it can be outplayed by a Sloop or 2. It spawns with 60 cannonballs, 30 wooden planks and 25 bananas.

    • Jelly fish - Random spawn around the ocean. Get too close and you will get stung. Stings will stun you for 4 seconds and do slight damage at the same time.

    • Boarding Hooks - Used to swing from one ship to another. Has really short range so it will be most effective when an enemy ship is pretty much right next to yours and can make for quick and effective boarding. Also you cannot carry loot whilst using the hook

    • More Animals - Have more animals such as monkeys, parrots, lizards, crabs, turtles etc spawn on islands. It will widen the range of Merchant voyages and possibly own them as pets?

    • Cinematic Mode - A good way to crate some awesome clips and screenshots so you can look back on your adventures in a whole new and exciting way!

    • Sirens - Mermaid like creatures that can spawn randomly. They will follow your ship for a set amount of time and when they sing they will invert your controls. You can kill them if you find them but get too close and they will pull you under and drown you.

    • Sea Serpent/ Leviathan - Similar to the Kraken and Meg, this sea monster will trap ships for a set amount of time and occasionally spit venom at the ship which will deal damage to both players and ship. It will also wrap itself around the ship and squeeze it to deal a fair amount of damage.

    • Fishing - Be able to fish from island docks or your ship. Fish gathered can be sold at the Merchants guild for a fair price.

    • Rogue waves - At complete random a giant wave will start heading towards the ship, it can be avoided but should it hit it will deal damage and fill your ship with water.

    • More fruit - Have consumables other than bananas such as Apples or Coconuts to restore health. Have then be able to be sold at Merchants too for really cheap

    • More Player Cosmetic Options - Have different player cosmetics such as gun and sword holsters, bandanna/hat combos etc

    • More Ship Cosmetic Options - Have custom captains quarters, lamp design, ship names etc.

    • Frozen Area - Located at the bottom left of the map where everything is snowy/frozen. Ice burgs litter the area and random snowstorms/blizzards can occur that can freeze your sails, helm, anchor etc. Can be thawed with a lantern. Also has frozen skeletons that can be melted with a lantern

    • Add more Shanties

    • Different instruments - Add a harmonica, Ukulele etc

That's all the ideas I have right now! I really hope some of these ideas get seen by the Devs, would be really awesome to see some of these ideas come to life!!!

  • @xgo-charliezard how about 1080p 60fps lock on Xbox one x rather than 30 across all resolutions, I like some of the ideas though

  • These are some really cool ideas but would take a while to implement. The team definitely has some awesome ideas coming in the future!

  • One thing I would love to see is a handheld version of the world map. Many times my ship has sunk and I have to swim to a nearby island with my treasures. Problem is, I don’t know where I am half of the time. I can’t tell my crew where to find me if I don’t know where I am. Even if the handheld map only shows 20 nautical miles with me in the center, it still would be enough to identify which island I’m on or close to

  • @xgo-charliezard a dit dans Possible Ideas For Future Updates? :

I think Rare must just change crew size in each existent ship :
    Sloop 2 max (no change)
    Brick 4 max (+1)
    Galleon 6 max (+2)

After all, I play on Overwatch, and when we're in a team of 6 we have fun without it being strict and restrictive.

Otherwise I'm pretty much okay with the rest, except the hook.
I think it should just be used to moor two ships (with similar speed and proximity constraints for example), not to play batman. Otherwise it will necessarily be diverted to something else and unbalance the gameplay

I definitely love the frozen zone idea. It would also be cool if you can collect the white flame of fate I’d you die by the ice. Essentially, you can claim the white flame by lightning and or ice death.

I also like the customizable lanterns on the ship too

  • I just ask for one thing : more playable musics

  • Not a big fan of the duel wielding guns and swords but im down for all the rest.
I am waiting for more regions like singapore or Asia.
In the concept artbook of Sea of Thieves you can see a region that reminds Asia.

  • @faceyourdemon oh And a giant crab boss also there are more then one hint about it.

I mean that would be a cool addition however I don't really see a problem with FPS at the moment but that's just me :)

You know what, I thought of that as I was writing the post. only reason I didn't include it is because I don't see how one would navigate the map if it's in your hand? Would definitely be helpful though!

Yeah! I can see a crew size rework happening if they do add that, would definitely balance things that's for sure! As for the hook it will only really be effective if both ships are pretty much side by side otherwise it will be too broken

Thank you! Also that's a brilliant idea! Especially as getting killed by lightning is a tedious task for the most part.!!

Omg yes!! Have it be a land boss maybe? Would definitely be a fun fight!

  • I would like the ability to have a secret base. The secret base similar to the Athena fortune zone. That’s where your ship would first spawn. You would drive you ship through a waterfall and appear on 6 random spots on the map instead of spawning at an outpost. Essentially, there would be an island in each zone, including the devils roar that has a giant waterfall that you can drive into or out of to get to your base zone. In the base zone, have 4 different bases. The outside would all look the same. However, the inside would be different for each player. When you log in, your base would become open to your crew. In other words, a 4 player ship would have all the bases open in a base zone. In the base zone, you would have a ship yard where you can customize your ship and a tavern where pirate legends can access the Athena fortune area. In the base you can customize it with different cosmetics and even keep the different color flames of the fates.

I would love the idea of item storage but many believe that would be unfair. To that idea, what about buying a crate of cannonballs, bananas and wood? You can sell them to an outpost for about a 1000 coins, you should be able to buy them for 2000 or so.

I would like the idea of selling your loot in these base zones but I feel many would not like that either since most people try to steal from people trying to sell at an outpost.

The base zone would mostly be a cosmetics place to decorate your own space. It would definitely be a cool place to start your adventure

  • Good long list! Lots of things here everyone wants. Head on over to Community Ideas Master List to see what you have in common with other members of the community.

    My Ideas
Fishing, Crabbing, Digging Clams, & Harpoon Monster Hunting
    Walking the Plank
    Outpost Under Siege
    Sea Folk Magic
Usable Dagger: Weapon/Tool & Environmental Targets
    Fly More Flags
    Diving Helmet

  • Some of these ideas are brilliant!!

  • @xgo-charliezard 30fps is unplayable, i understand 4k 30 FPS but why 1080p when Xbox can easily run it at 60.When KB&M is added I’m sure more people will voice their opinions about it, since lower frame rates are easier to manage with a controller
