Make loot worth more at more distant Outposts for future items

  • I feel that to increase player counts in older areas, and to increase chances of targets actually having loot. Future items (and maybe current one ) should have a revised value system.

Take Devil's Roar for example. Ashen Chests and skulls should give 50% increase when sold at Morrow's Peak, but should give 200% when sold at Golden Sands. The bonus in value could be an incentive for players to travel longer distance with loot increasing the potential for actual Piracy not just sinking sloops with no loot for kicks.

  • This is an interesting concept, would it be only for area specific stuff like "Ashen" loot, or for any loot just based on the distance from where the loot was dug up / found?

  • Each biome could get a reskin and attached adjective for the loot gathered there, as well as merchant commodities being harvestable based on location and having higher value at certain places.

A world and economy update would be nice to see for a pirate game.

Things like rum could be aged to increase value, and could even be hidden on an island to be retrieved later, etc.

  • @hbot106 I mean I guess it wouldn't have to be. Like @A-Cranky-Eskimo said it could be all items are reworked with a tag so certain items sell more at different outposts.
