Crash!

  • A duplicitous miscreant killed me at a fort after we'd agreed to work together. Naturally, this called for bloody revenge. So I hoisted the Jolly Roger, loaded my guns and sailed all the way across the map to get back to the fort. Instead of the sloop, I found a galleon. But just as I arrived, the scoundrel who backstabbed me showed up again. Perfect timing! He sailed directly into the fire of the cannons, and I unleashed a hail of cannon fire on him. He sank quickly. I had a few holes and quite a bit of water by then, but nothing I couldn't patch up. As soon as I finished, I turned my attention to the galleon...

...and everything went black. The game crashed without warning. P**f.

Now, this wouldn't have been quite so aggravating if it were possible to quickly log back in and pick up where I left off. Even if my ship had sunk by then, at least I'd have had the opportunity to finish what I'd started. But no. Argh!

Oh, well. At least I got to watch my backstabbing c****n sink. That gave me some pleasure. I would've loved to see how the rest turned out.

  • I thought I was pretty up on British slang, but I have no idea why "p-o-o-f" would be censored. Should I have said "zap" instead?

    Wait... "c-r-e-t-i-n" too? Good grief...

  • @genuine-heather It's a bit dated, but it's still a naughty in these parts.

  • @luciansanchez82 I guess that's the trouble with forum AI. It doesn't understand context. I had no clue that word would be censored for some reason, even given that it may have "alternative" meanings. It's a bit baffling the words that get blacklisted here...

  • @genuine-heather It's definitely somewhat over the top! I'd rather there were more moderators who could mod posts according to how the language is being used. Rare's train set though I guess!

  • @genuine-heather Luckily though the moderators do know the context and won't even say anything to you regarding the content. Still a bit annoying that it's starred but at least it goes a long way in keeping the forums clean of profanities...

  • @luciansanchez82 Seriously. They're taking away all my "nice" words. As a bonified logophile, that makes me very sad.

  • @genuine-heather I like words too!

  • @genuine-heather Phew logophile wasn't filtered!

  • @musicmee LOL! Thank heavens! I don't think I could have endured the trauma...

Its because p-o-o-f is a derogatory term for someone who male and gay or 'feminine' but it can be used against any male with -the outcome of saying 'your less of a man'. C-r-e-t-I-n I assume is because its again a derogatory term. Use dipstick or plonker as these aren't filtered and are said by the legend that is Derek 'del boy' Trotter.

  • Their language filter is dumb... can I say dumb? Anyway, I suggested they use a better filter that does word substitution taking one offensive word and changing it to a less offensive word. I wish they would do that. Perhaps even have pirate themed words.
