Portable ammo box

    How about having an ammo box sold at one of the vendors for about 1000g.
    The box can hold between 50 and 100 shots, is refilled by holding it and interacting with a standard ammo box.
    The portable ammo box can be carried to anywhere and placed anywhere a cage item can be dropped, it can be used by enemy crews as well.
    You should be able to buy as many ammo boxes as you want or maybe have a limited stock at vendors per server, which maybe refreshes every hour or so.
    If you leave your ammo box on an island it can be taken by another crew, it will eventually despawn maybe set to the same timer as dropped cargo?

    I think a ammo box is a great idea, except for the buying part. It would be nice if we could find more crates, such as cannonball, wood and banana crates in the world. The ammo box would be a nice addition. I do agree that it should have a max capacity of bullets, just like the other crate types.

    I would also like it if there were more crates in the world, ones that you could buy from traders for a certain price on one island and sell for profit somewhere else, that's another topic though.
    As for the portable ammo chest, it would of course be stealable by other crews so it would be another thing to look after. The main benefit of the box would be saving time having to swim out to the sea and climb the boat when you have ran out of ammo which is very quickly mostly

    I really like the idea and have often wished for it, but I wonder if it would be too easily abused. Camping in a strategic position with a box of ammo, you could pick off pirates from a distance for an unlimited time. Fun concept, but would it be unbalancing?

    Yes, yes, yes and yes...oh and yes!

    I often cringe at games where the common sense thing to do.....you CAN'T do?!

    The first ammo box I found on an island, I immediately tried picking it up.....and..... NOPE!!?

    This game has a lot of those NOPEs throughout. But a lot of games do.
    Here's to Rare! A developer that is interested in removing all the NOPEs from its game!

    @genuine-heather the portable box would have limited capacity, I suggest 50-100 rounds, pirates take upto 5 per reload

    Love the idea of a portable ammo box and there are so many different ways to implement it. Sometimes we will take a banana crate with us to shore on an OOS mission that is up high or in the middle of a huge island or deep within a cave.

    @wryubiquitous the crates for bananas should also be purchasable too, dont remember the last time I actually found one.

    i'd be satisfied if the rowboats had an ammobox in them. It would make life easier and make us use them more at the same time.

    I mentioned this a long time ago. I thought it would be good for taking out gold skeleton waves in hard to reach places and some other tactical maneuvers like putting it in Fort towers with a designated sniper. I suggested it naturally spawned on a fresh ship and would teleport onto the ship if it was off the ship for more than an hour. I’m all for this

    maybe just an ammo pouch 10-15rounds
    that way you dont have to carry around A big box
    or have it as an upgradeable
    ammo pouch 5rnd 1000g
    ammo pouch 10rnds 2000g
    ..... 15rnds 3000g
    numbers are just examples
    nothing over 15 rnds i think is a good number
    maybe a satchel/pack of sorts carries exra provisions
    so right now can carry 5b 10cb 5p
    the pack would be
    carry 5 extra 2500g
    example 1p 3b 1cb
    10 extra 3500g
    5b 2p 3cb
    or just 10b
    that way u can
    1 have extra stuff
    2 supply your ship quicker

    @hersheymanley I do like your idea, but I think Rare prefer to have something that requires more team work than pure convenience

    Bump.

    I REALLY hoped they would have added mobile ammo boxes by now. They could have it with a limited supply or make them rare to find or even as a reward.
