Thoughts on the new update

    Probably my biggest issue with this update is that it requires you to find another crew. I had no problem finding a crew but give it a week and people will start complaining. Not to mention, it wasn't meaningful. The megladon made more sense and even then, it can be done with just 2-3 players. They are trying to enforce cooperation in a game that's built on betrayal and piracy??? If that's what they really want then add social elements. A Dashboard or a hub. Not to mention, one of the selling points was that it could be played solo or co-op...

    I'm also a bit concerned about the Pride flag. I'm not homophobic or anything but why state your opinion at all? Why can't companies just stay neutral on topics of controversy? We don't want to state our position on the seas. We want meaningful content. Games are a place where we can escape our messed up world. This is only going to push players apart and lead to bullying. I already ran into a ship flying the flag ironically.

    I love the bilge rat shop but was disappointing at the amount of rep you gain from purchasing the letters.

    All you need is two solo sloops. I think that's acceptable. It would be better if there was some incentive for doing it as a team, but also doable on your own.

    Mostly because of all the drama that comes with it. Take a look at the forums the past few days. I play games to get away from the real world.

    I am always in favor of incentive over requirement. For Meg, they could have made her always attack your ship from the front or rear, making it far easier with other ships to shoot her. Or, they could have made her alternate attacks between all the ships nearby, meaning more ships results in fewer bites. For this event, we need more than one crew because...? How does the throne even know the difference between two sloop crews and a single galleon crew?

    It'll fizzle out - in the end, anyone who wants a rainbow flag will have one and everyone else will be no worse for the wear.

    @katchep because it’s not a “controversy”, it’s a fair cause, so if some people wants to whine about it let them whine.

    World doesn’t stop because some folks live in Middle Age.

    @katchep I am minding the 'other crew' requirement less the more I think and read on it, although I still am in the position I would like to see it gone. Having to be at the mercy of the server to fully complete something is not good. Have a full crew? Cool. However, you then have a server full of no one willing to team up, or no one you can even find? Not cool. Especially when that happens on multiple servers when you hop.

    What I do like about this event, is that you can complete half solo, and the other half requires someone from another crew. If they do keep requiring multiple crews to work together, I'd like to see this in future events.

    Another thought IMO, to make multiple crew events better, would be some mechanic that allows you to join crews together ahead of getting into a server, or better means to contact other crews when in the server. The speaking trumpet is nice and all, but if you can't find a ship to yell at, then it doesn't really help.

    @landiien But it was never an issue before. People from the LGBTQ community have always been welcome? What does your sexuality have to do with being a pirate?

    @lobofh I don't think whining about it is a problem. Its the fact the rare is stating their position on a controversial topic and I feel like it will lead to a slippery slope of sorts. Sure other companies do as well but i don't see the point. As long as a company remains neutral why should anyone feel excluded?

    Do I need to explain why it's good that they take a stance about the issue and why to be neutral is to be against?

    I'm curious to know - Rare guys really think that we need annoying angrybirds event with forced cooperation in the naval action game supposed to be about guns, fights, treasures and dangerous adventures - is 15 min stupid shooting with bodies at rock looks like a dangerous adventure????

    @landiien And I'm glad for them as well. I just don't see how it's so beneficial that it needs to be added. Before this update, never once in the 4 months of playing this game did my crew discuss sexuality and why should we? It has nothing to do with the game. But the first crew I joined after the update was mocking the flag and bringing out their stance on the topic.

    It’s pretty fun. It’s promising for weekly events down the line. However like with THD there is zero reason to replay. I found all the thrones with a couple of crews and it was a blast. However if you haven’t done it in a day or two then I imagine it’ll be so hard looking for crews willing to help you out.

    This event definitely took longer than THD. 45mins vs. almost 4hrs. but yea, it's still not enough. They could of done something daily maybe? Like you can only gain a certain amount of coins each day. Making you repeat or find new thrones everyday?

    @landiien Because, the rainbow flag is not, in and of itself, inclusive. It represents the LGBTQ community. That’s a good thing. It’s just a meta gesture that is out of place in the game.

    Yea, I know that. Just saying it wasn't difficult enough to require 5 people. Would be possible with 2-4.
