Spec Requirements - PC

  • Hi all,
I have been playing the game since the original beta tests on my Xbox One.
I'm in the market for a new laptop, as my current one is now a good few years old and starting to show it's age.
Whilst I'm thinking of upgrading, I had thought that I might as well get something with good enough specs to be able to play the game on the move when I don't have the xbox with me.
Does anyone have any advice on what specs are needed to play, or any specific laptops that are good?
I'm not looking to spend fortunes - a decent spec laptop kinda mid range +. I don't mind if the graphics aren't perfect, as long as the game is playable.
    Many thanks in advance

  • @rhyshawkhurst It can run on pretty weak machines with reduced graphics. I can get it going on a 2015 Macbook Pro, 16GB rams, integrated graphics, I5 2.9GHz. It doesn't look great and I get about 20 FPS, but it runs at least.

  • @rhyshawkhurst just make sure to have a decent enough cpu, it seems to be a little cpu dependent

  • @rhyshawkhurst the exact specs i would say is 4 cores for your cpu (so you can have stuff running in the background)
8-16 gigs of ram for the matter of processing stuff at a nicer smoother rate, and atleast something that can run games at 720p, im not big on gpus
and atleast 1 TB of harddrive.

that should be able to run the game in mythical. but the GPU is up to you, anything i bleiev with 8 gigs of ram, has something strong run the game at 1080p

  • Not sure about your price range but you should be able to find a laptop with a Geforce 1060 6GB for around $1000 and that graphics card should be more than enough to run Sea of Thieves at 1080p 60FPS.

  • Thank you all for the helpful comments.

It'll probably be a while until I get the laptop, but I'll let you know how I get on.

Hope to see you all out on the seas
