Sea of Thieves Updates/DLC requests

  • There Should be a new Faction in the Game similar to how the gold hoarders are where when you go to them you can receive voyages. Except, it should be a faction where you unlock it at the start of the game. You would approach the A.I. which is the leader of the Fisherman Faction etc. When you talk to him you can get different sized crates or storage compartments where each take a certain amount of time to fill up or they could be used to catch different varieties of fish. The fish would be caught by some sort of fishing tool and then when captured then can be placed in a storage compartment.

    Good idea. If Rare adds in a fishing mechanic, adding a fisherman faction would be a good way to tie it into the quest system.

  • I do agree fishing would be an awesome addition to the game but i can't help feeling that tying it to a new faction would hinder the fun people could have from it. I enjoyed all 3 factions but after grinding to 50 in each one and repeating the same quests for Athena's fortune, I'm getting very tired of the grind.

    I feel like ideas such as this could easily fit in to the merchant faction just so you have more options to level up rep there. Or maybe not even have it linked towards a faction at all and you could find items for all 3 factions based on rng, such as chests, crates and skulls.

    A friend of mine who talked about fishing a few nights ago even mentioned pulling up a gun powder barrel that other crews could attach to the hook. I found that pretty funny lol.

  • @n3ro-cr33d Good Idea because that means it can leave more room to expand the rest of the factions. Someone had a similar idea on a different post except it uses a harpoon concept.This is there post

    1. I'd like to see AI ships carrying cargo that we could steal from. I know this will most likely not happen as rare stated every ship you see with be another player. A positive of this could be that people that primarily play PvE could still attack other ships whilst learning how to attack for when they meet another player ship. The seas can get pretty boring without seeing other ships on the horizon so I'd love something like this.

    2. I'd love to see an event simular to skull forts that would draw all the ships to a spot to work together. Forts are good but usually you'll have it to yourself or maybe a fight with another ship. I'd like to see an event where there's enough loot for everyone but the longer ships stay in that area, the harder it becomes thus risking the loot players had already got.

  • @n3ro-cr33d That sounds pretty cool. I mean it would be possible to create A.I. ships that travel randomly around the map and the bigger or more designed the ship is, the more better quality of loot you can find. But, I the down side is if you would be trying to get to a specific destination and you see and A.I Galleon either going the same direction or at you, your most likely going to get attacked. Plus this could lessen the likely hood ratio of success of selling items when you have A.I ships roaming the map. I mean it still is a good idea but, it also adds some difficulty to the game.
