Hit 49 today. Was ready to grind out to 50 (before xbox live crashed tonight). I did a few missions and they were...weird. As soon as I hit 49 my missions were to go to almost the furthest outpost with one pig.
Is that normal?

Hahaha yup this is normal... maybe swap them out a few times and you will get some golden animal quests that are worth it. The exact same thing happened to me! Don't be fooled by the one pig quests they are hardly worth it.

I'm a Merchant so I never discard missions. I just thought it was weird that instead of going to the next outpost, I was going all of a sudden from Sanctuary to Galleons or from Galleons to Golden Sands. Very long and strange trips. It might have been for a golden pig and a barrel. I might discard them to finish off though, if I ever get back on!
@edemardil Conventional wisdom is to never pay rank your factions until you hit 50.
Many people do this to avoid the Sea of ZZZZZs your pig, big riddles on large islands for castaway chests, and the cheap/lazy AI/skeleton implementation this title throws at you in the upper ranks in order to simulate difficulty.

And like IRL honest people will pay because there is other abusing the system.
Soon we will not get anymore xp if you reach a rank before buying the title.@zyrkal It's not abuse if it is the system. Honestly like so many other things, that should have been there from the start.
