Digging takes too long with 1 shovel. Here are suggestions

    So I have noticed when I am digging treasure while the rest of my crew are looking for other treasure x marks the spot it takes many digging animations for the chest to completely come up the surface. Why not instead of making shovels all about skins you actually spend your coin on shovels that require less digging. For example let us buy shovels that take less time with the shovel to actually dig up the chest. Another option would be depending on the type of chest takes less digs of the surface to bring it up. Castaway chests are the cheapest so allowed to digs for it to come up. Seafarers chests take 3. Mauraders takes 4 and Captains take 5.

    How about you enlist the help of your crewmates? Everything goes faster when you have multiple people working on it.

    Sea of Thieves really doesn't need any sort of stat-altering items.

    I actually like the fact that it takes a while to dig chests up.
    You have several options how to deal with it: every crewmember can go for one chest or you team up and run around as a team and dig up a chest with 3 or 4 people.
