Remove the requirement for xbox live gold.

    I am an Xbox user and i love SoT, i love the world we inhabit and most of the people i share it with, the seas are a wondrous place. I do not however love the treatment of us Xbox players, each and every one of us 2million+ users all have a paid subscription to our names, today mine ran out, so now i am in the same boat as the 300k pc users, but alas I cannot play, but they can.
    Forced to play in servers with an inherent disadvantage.
    Forced to crossplay with these non paying players.
    I do not believe any aspect of my life where i am forced to pay a premium should then be mixed with people who have paid NOTHING.

    And to the ones saying do research, i did and not one single game exists with forced crossplay.

    This has nothing to do with any xbox live benefits or ‘free’ games a subscription may entitle me to, just the basic idea of why am i (xbox) paying for something that you (pc) are not...?

    Elder Scrolls Online. You can subscribe to support the game. You play on the same servers as anyone who isn't subscribed.

    @lostspacesquid and that is your alternative to owning the game, there are plenty of xbox users who pay for both gamepass and gold.

    Sounds like you're talking about crossplay, bud.

    They're not going to remove the Xbox Live requirement. No matter how much you whinge. Besides, that isn't something even remotely within Rare's ability to do in the first place.

    Again, I recommend you do proper and thorough research before you consider dropping money on a product.

    @subaqueousreach again i ask you, what research did i miss? I paid money for an xbox one game, to play on my xbox one console with other xbox one users. If you also did research you would know not one game exists with forced crossplay... so what did i miss?

    Well evidently you missed the fact that Rare wouldn't have separate servers for separate platforms.

    And see? More crossplay talk. You really need to bring this to that megathread the mods pointed you to.

    You do realize every console game nowadays needs an online sub by definition, right? It's the only way to keep them afloat, especially those without big hits or constant income flow due to their game selection.
    It would be way more reasonable to ask for cutting crossplay at this point, or freebie servers.
    Sure, that would be also as fruitless, but also less laughable.

    @subaqueousreach then you clearly missed the point where Rare asked for feedback and ideas, hence why i am in the feedback section requesting additional feedback, you are here to troll and have nothing to offer the discussion, you send me messages in chat and now just spam me here? This is not reasonable behaviour. So back to the title at the top of the page, please Rare, remove the xbox gold requirement. I should not have to pay for something that others should not.

    @solidsnakemig now that i didn't know i thaught you getting the xbox live and includes the game in there i guess is not fair then to pay double

    You're not paying double. The Xbox Live subscription fee is not exclusive to Sea of Thieves. It is required to play ANY online game for Xbox.

    Hi there, Sea of Thieves requires Xbox Live Gold Membership to play on Xbox One and this is made clear on the box and in our promotional materials.
