  • Does your pc have a bluetooth adapter?

    i just bought this

    so I should hope so

plugged it in, let it install what it needed, rebooted my pc

  • @splatulated Is it an OG xbox controller? They didn't have bluetooth

  • There could be any number of reasons it doesn't work. I would try connecting other bluetooth devices to the PC and connecting your controller to another PC for troubleshooting, for a start. Of course, you might have done this but your post is very vague.

  • @splatulated Search bluetooth in start menu and check it's turned on via settings. Then try add bluetooth device from the same menu, and make sure the controller is turned on.

Also, hold the connect button on the controller, otherwise the PC won't detect it. Iirc.

    tried

had it flashing fast then tried to search for it

    no results

  • got it to work!

but do i really have to redo these steps everytime i switch from wired - wireless (for charging reasons)

or is there a setting so it can auto detect and reconnect to my pc after being unplugged like it can when used on the xbox console?

  • @splatulated just tried with mine (was connected via BT but had to charge it via lead last night) and had to add it back as a BT device again.

Slightly irritating...seems plugging it in via USB adds it as a Wired Xbox Controller and disregards is as a Wireless Xbox Controller.

Only thing I can think of is to charge it through some other devices USB connection and it should still remain a Wireless Xbox Controller on your PC.

All a bit of a stab in the dark mind you.

so charge it with wall instead of keyboard x.x

  • @splatulated mine is plugged into my laptop at the moment.

I'd imagine a phone charger would do it...but probably best to check voltages etc :D

idk seems i canplug it int oa wall and still use the controller on pc with out needing reconnect

kinda sucks i cant charge it directly from my pc tho

  • @splatulated I can charge mine via PC, just need to add it back as a wireless device....but yeah its an annoyance...especially if you unplug it mid game and it decides it doesn't want to be a controller anymore :D
