for one I believe it does have a body because did we get any conformation that it doesn't so why would they put it in the game with just floating tentacles would not make any sence
kraken body?
@blackenedred-sg That's not entirely what he is asking. Everyone knows during the encounters so far that it is only tentacles, but there's been a rumor going around since release that when you fight the kraken enough the body will appear.
I don't entirely believe that rumor though to answer the initial question. I've fought the kraken like six or seven times and while the fights have seemingly gotten a little bit harder (maybe?) I have yet to see any face or body.
@roughleech03117 its all smoke and mirrors. every game does it. sure a body would be cooler no doubt but they made the water black for a reason. Look at the video and see how they trick you in other games.
Like Bigfoot, I won't believe it until I see it. It would be cool if krakens were actual npcs in the game that freely roam the ocean. I know in one other game, there was a leviathan that was an npc free roaming the waters. You could dive under and actually find it and follow it. It lived in the ocean and attacked ships that came too close. That would be cool.
@noisa1992 or like it would be that final showdown like you said and it actually shows it's face that it had
@roughleech03117 said in kraken body?:
for one I believe it does have a body because did we get any conformation that it doesn't so why would they put it in the game with just floating tentacles would not make any sence
well thats too bad
@roughleech03117 So nobody has seen the body so it's unsure if there is no body or just that nobody has seen the body. Would everybody say that's a fair assessment of the no body debate this body of players is discussing?
@roughleech03117 yes :) for now its not really a defeat only pushing it back to the Ocean.
Even when the Archivment says otherwiseWhile looking for treasure on an island with a friend, there was a Galleon and a small ship fighting a kraken far away from us.
At some point, we both saw a big round thing coming out of the water at the side of the Galleon. It was a real big weird looking thing.
We thought that maybe it was a part of the Galleon breaking off but it also happend after it sank and disappeared. It attacked the small ship the same way.Might have been a visual bug or a bunch of tentacles grouped together that looked like a head from afar, not sure. It came from the side of the ship, like it was eating it.
I can agree with other concerns but this polemic about the missing kraken's body is stupid.
Yes, it's smoke and mirrors, like thousand examples in videogames, movies, photography and theater. They don't need to model a perfectly detailed transport ship 2 Km away in your Omaha Beach game, they will model a basic model with some hundreds polygons and attach a believable picture over and they will call it a day..."but, but, but I am looking at the ship with my sniper zoom and looks like garbage!"...dude, don't look stupid things with your sniper, play the game as it's intended and the effect will be good, it will add atmosphere to your experience if you don't try to break the magic show and expose its tricks.
The kraken spawns tentacles all over the place in a very wide surface, if it had a body the complexity of animations, the strain for hardware would be higher, and perhaps it didn't work, remember that it needs to work in a five years old console that struggles to get 30 fps and 1080p in most games.
So they hide the magic trick with black water, stop whining, this is a perfect example of the boy who cried wolf, if we are unreasonable with stupid things they won't listen to us with the reasonable ones.
