Just have to laugh

  • waht is the definition of griefing? So the first part is fine but next just makes me confused ... I just had someone with founder sails decide it's funny to come shoot up our boat while 3 out of 4 of us was afk .. one of us came back and our two guys repaired our boat and wrecked them .... the part i dont get is why they spawned one island away and then just kept throwing themselves at us over and over and over and over no matter how many times we sunk them or killed them ... we were going to start to grief them back by spawn killing them on thier boat and just keep sailing it but instead we were adults and just switched server .... now is it griefing to hurl yourself at someone like that even though no one has loot ?? if so maybe ill start doing that ... .. On a different note why are all the ships flying away ? I cant be the only one noticing

  • @salem-vice your telling me I came across a fort last night and battled a sloop for 4 hrs as they were just camping the edge and then atatcking anyone who came near.. at one point (2hrs in ) I came up to them friendly and asked "whats your problem " they said .. "we dont want the fort we are jsut bored and dont want anyone else to have it . doesnt matter how many times ytou sink us we got all night .. leave the server "". so we sunk them over and over and over until we beat the fort then sunk them over and over and over to cash the stuff in then they scuttled and left server ,, right after they did that is switched us servers meaning they basivcally griefed everyone out of that server lol they said they had been there for hours already before we got there

  • @salem-vice The most important information you blatantly missed or are willingly ignoring considering your comment is : founder sails.

  • Calling that "griefing" is a bit of a stretch.

    Annoying? Sure.

Abusing game mechanics in unintended ways to harass other players? Not really.

  • @rayfromjersey I did not call it griefing I asked what is considered griefing? id say my second example is more griefing ... or the guy who spawned into our galleon as a fourth crashed our ship kegd it with no keg themn when we brigged him he hacked his way out of the brig only to keg us over and over with no kegs .

I know. I provided you with the definition, which is what you asked for.

  • @salem-vice a dit dans Just have to laugh :

@meurtrisseur Whats founder have to do with it? They signed up early, doesn't mean they're model pirates.

No... ? Then why accusing players enjoying the game pass offer only then, instead of everyone ?

  • @rayfromjersey sorry I must have missed where you provided the definition of griefing as you said abusing the fact that the spawns are so close is not griefing just annoying ... but even rare doesnt agree with that . because they are changing the respawns

  • Well me and my friend were pulling up to the fort and got to the other side in a sloop. There was a gallon opposite. They were fighting the fort. We decided to try to contest the fort by sinking their gallon. They had the same idea. Both sides swam a gunpowder barrel under each boat... it was hilarious. Neither of us sank. But it added a difficulty level to the fort. 2 of us 4 of them. Odds were against us. The fort finished and they grabbed the key and raised anchor. We of course gave chase. For about 2 hours we had cannon fights. Neither side budged and neither side sank. Until..... a second galleon came . Unfortunately for them. Me and my friend on our sloop sunk both gallons at the same time. Killed the crews and started loading some dropped treasures . In the middle of loading up the gallon returned to claim it's lost treasure . We set sail and escaped. Made it to the outpost and sold it all. They galleon still had treasure floating in the water and they still had the key. At the outpost we were done and that same galleon pulled up. We were in game chat and playing shanties. We wanted to talk to the other crew and tell them how much fun it was to so that for 2 hours was very exciting. We assumed they enjoyed it even though they sank and we didn't even take the big treasures. .. those are the kinds of experiences that make it fun. But not everyone will leave treasures for the sunken ship. And they didn't care for it either . We were speaking parlay and we just wanted to talk considering how hard we went at each other we thought we could tram up galleon and sloop. .. Nah they didn't listen and volleyed 46 cannon balls at our sloop.... still didn't sink... They left without a word. Still was fun though.

  • @meurtrisseur this was partially my point yes . founders can be trash too .. its not only the gamepass users doing the VERY annoying things

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d you can switch servers? oh wise one how do you do that? please don't say back on the start screen....

The fact they don't have PVE/Private sessions is an absolute joke along with the merge system that wants to kill you as soon as you start making progress

  • @pantang merge system that wants to kiull you when you make progress??? do you mean how i can sail around for hours and see no one then when i finallyt do voyages and have chests on board there is ships everywhere and everytime i go to an outpost there is a fresh spawn ? l**o

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d Me and my crew have been accused of Griefing because there's times where we sail up on a Fort and right as we anchor, the other team finishes. Now, yes, we could be nice and let them have what they earned, but we did come over with intentions on getting loot.. so, we did. Got called Griefing a*******s and they began yelling at us, so I politely went to reply saying

"I'm sorry for stealing your treasure on the Sea of Thieves, and a friendly tip, always have one guy on look out, grab the key, and run."
It was genuine feedback. Told me to F off and they gave up.

  • @ioz12345 im all for that i have so much fun on this game .. it's just a small percentage of peoplel that ruin the experience .. those ppl make me want to load in and hurl myself at ppl until they quit lol

  • @kawaii-dumpling this happened to us tonight we rolled up on a fort kegged the galleon that was there they sunk and the boss was out . it was a shadow boss at night .glad I have done this a few times I killed him within 5 seconds of being on the island. they were back on us by the time we had treasure on board, I used my sneaky tactics to get away without sinking them again . then i watched them leave server from a distance .. sorry to whoever it was and if you would have blinked your light we would have shared ..

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d
Right . That is a ton of fun. The epic battles and chases. But when u have 2 people standing on your boat spawn killing you..... That's griefing.

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d said in Just have to laugh:

Game developers only make changes to game mechanics because of griefers?

    Weird.

  • @ioz12345 ya thats happened to me a few times , and because im on xbox my spawn time is slower than pc so my guy is standing there while im still in a black loading screen so I just die over and over and over .. sucks but what can ya do I guess

  • @rayfromjersey I didnt say that . you seem to have twisted my words there . I said they acknowledge that its not fair to spawn a minute away . if you get sunk over and over you are clearly trash and need to stop trying to suicide bomb into another ship

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d
Switch servers and try again. Plenty of times I've been solo. I rarely sink but for some weird reason galleons that come after me do sink...... well this entire game is about pirating . That's fine . Communication and skill can win the fight very easy

  • @ioz12345 I dont even care or get mad when im spawnkilled over and over .. that's what they are looking for I usually jsut laugh when it gets done to me ..

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d said in Just have to laugh:

    Yes you did.

"rare doesnt agree with that (the definition of griefing that I posted) . because they are changing the respawns"

    LOL!

Just because a game developer wants to improve upon something doesn't mean that something is considered griefing.

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d
No harm no foul. They gain nothing from it. Honestly I've griefed a crewmate because he was dumb and did dumb things like wasting cannonballs in deep ocean and throwing stuff overboard. So locked in brig. Puked on him. Ported sold. Scuttle. Prisoner stays in brig at new ship spawn. Puke on him and scuttle . Or even more fun. Fill the ship half water and watch him drown over and over. But he deserved it

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d This is what I don't understand. If someone is bored of the game why keep playing it? I seriously doubt that it's the only game they have. Even if it is the only one they could buy and feel it was a bad purchase ask for a refund and just buy something else or go try one of the many great free games out there...

  • @rayfromjersey again i must be missign something because you posted no definition of griefing you jsut said it was annoying. and i agree ... id say its even annoying enough to encourage annoying ppl to suicide bomb you over and over l**o

  • @ajarcher21 personally I think it's funny ppl cant just accept that they are defeated.. sink them 10 times they still come back hoping to sink you once ... get good is all i have to say

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d that's all fine and dandy, but my question was about those people that say the game is boring because of lack of content, but keep playing it just to aggravate others.

I cannot grasp the concept of "If I can't have fun here, no one will" it's so petty and shallow. Think about what you said, they were sitting there for hours just to stop people playing. Not playing themselves, not having fun, just annoying people.

Maybe it's because I come from a different generation/culture but that is beyond my comprehension. My play time is very limited, if I'm bored with a game I'm not going to waste any more on it.
