This game is super boring

    Coming from someone who is new to the game there is nothing to do. The combat gets redundant after a while. The quests get boring. I found myself shooting out of cannons just to stay awake between the loot drop offs. Its ashame that people are paying for an investment ( not if you have game pass ) that might succeed or fail. The whole game progression being based around cosmetics is a lame. There is nothing that makes me want to grind for hours just to change the shirt on my back. The ship cosmetics are even worse the ones needed by maxing out the guilds are lazy not enough variation from the unlocked ones. You should feel proud for your accomplishments in a game. Here there is none, the once in a while moments with friends is not enough. There needs to be way more content in this game. Paying for an investment that could fail is dirty.
    TL,DR: game is boring, more content and dirty for full price release

    One last thing why can I carry 10 cannon balls but only 5 bullets for the guns.

    Have you tried jumping in with other crews? It can be a bit hit and miss finding a crew you gel with, but once you do the experience gets much better.

    This game isn't entirely about grinding for new things as such - the cosmetics you earn are to show your experience to other players you meet (and/or kill) in the game. I guess it's more about the journey than the destination.

    Of course, if this isn't what you're looking for in a game, perhaps this simply isn't for you?

    Honestly, I hope you stick with it and discover what a blast this game really can be.

    This, there's an insane satisfaction to alot of things in the game, when you have a 4 man crew running smooth like butter shouting commands and working flawlessly it feels gooooood

    It's a story building game, always has been. If you're that bored it's not for you. My life as a pirate has been full of epic moments and intense battles with man, sea, and everything in between.

    I don´t exactly share your whole point that the game is lame. But you are right in one point you made, we can only grind for cosmetics. And thats where I hope something new comes in so that it doesn`t get boring if we got the stuff we wanted to have.
    But for now I´m having a blast

    Me thinks you need to play a bit more then?

    Things to do in the game:
    Solve riddles, collect treasure, fight skelly captains, explore islands, fight other crews, join other crews, complete skelly forts, complete all achievements, collect all commendations, become a legendary pirate, go on legendary quests, legendary riddles, become a legendary Captain, get your legendary ship (of your own) and that's without using your imagination. :)

    Can I ask what you expected from this game before you bought in to the Pirate lifestyle??

    Unless you have completed all of the above you are basing your opinion on a few hours gameplay? My mum always said I need to try something at least 5x before I could say I didnt like it lol

    I am 'grinding' to not only get some new accoutrements for me and my ship but my goal is to become a pirate legend.

    I don't think it will fail personally. This is the best pirate game to come out in years. It's quirky and different from your 'run of the mill' FPS or MMORPG and I think some people don't get it.
    Its a bit more casual than hard core. Its a pleasure to play, great for destressing after a hard days work, and really social.

    And only 5 bullets?...... there were no machine guns in pirate times. :)

    @lizalaroo Well said. Think the bottom line here (and on many similar posts) is to play more to discover what this game has to offer. It's not spoon fed to you, you have to find it for yourself.

    @luciansanchez82 Agreed. I've been playing/testing for over a year now and I still find new things. If you'd got 500 hours of game time then the OP's argument might have more weight.

    you are all missing the point,which is 0 content....theres 7,000 hours games,then theres 20 hour games,this is the latter as far as "content" goes.

    Game is fun with fun people. If you get bored you need to engage other pirates verbally more. Team up for a bit then turn on them for all the loot. Game can be super exciting. Just don't expect the riddles to get heart pumping. You can down right break hearts in this game or make friends for many games to come. To some a ball and a basket are two boring things but if you put a little thought and get some like minded people you have a exciting game of basket ball. Probably not a great analogy but you get point. I have been playing since December and still have amazing one of a kind moments.

    Sounds like you are looking for a FPS pirate game. This isn't that. Go play destiny or GTA if you like that style better.

    That machine gun thing is really irrelevant.

    I mean he pointed out you carry 10 cannon balls but still only 5 bullets.

    Mentioning machine guns is redundant. As those 5 bullets are probably held in a pouch and those cannonballs are stored in... what exactly?

    Honestly, this game is anything but boring. Playing solo is constant anxiety. And it gets worse the more treasure you accumulate. It's downright terrifying trying to find a place to turn in a deck full of treasure when everywhere you turn there are galleons. I sometimes feel like I need to take a break and play something else to relax and unwind from the tension.

    Don't play it then. It's not for you. Sorry but that's all I can advise.

    If you don't get a kick out of joining 3 other random people. Figuring at your respective roles on the ship and then communicating to most efficiently travel to islands where you then have to solve riddles and map puzzles. Then sorry. It's just not your game.

    If the excitement of outperforming another galleon with ship turning, sail management as well as use of the anchor to position yourself to blow another ship out of the water as efficiently as possible. Nope. Not for you.

    Off splitting your team of four into two teams of two and both trying to take a fort AND fend off attackers from your ship is also not fun. Well then you know the game might be for you if... NO NOT FOR YOU!

    What you want is in plenty of other games. Go play those. Not trying to be rude but it really is the only solution.
