@ant-heuser-kush Xbox one X is not even on par with a 1060, so to say it's on par with with a 1080 is just silly. I don't care what paper says, I own both and it's not even close. For instance, we won't even get a full 1080@60fps at medium settings with this game, which isn't the most hardware intensive game. Now my PC can run this on a mix of legendary and mythical settings at a smooth 60fps lock. That's obviously why they stick with 30 with the X. Do you they think they want to run it @30fps? Absolutely not. They could maybe run this game on Xbox one x at 1080p@60fps lock with medium settings. Maybe.
It's not about resolution, it's more about better fps/lighting/shadows, textures, filtering, etc.. stuff PC gamers have experienced for over a decade.
The Xbox one x games running native 4k are not at ultra or even high settings, not completely. They may put a couple settings up, but they are taking a hit on settings for resolution.. Which is dumb in my opinion. They should focused on ultra/high settings at 1080@60fps as console players have yet to see that.. Hell OG/S Xboxes get odd rez like 800-900p@30fps with low/med graphical settings..
You can play the original counterstrike at 8k@120fps, sure it may be crisp, but it's definitively not going to look any better. Now play CS:Source at 1080@60fps maxed out side by side. Something like Destiny 2 is night and day on the Pc compared to the X.
30fps bothers me so much it can lead to eye discomfort after about 30mins. It's saddening to go back to 30fps to play with my console peeps. Some of my console friends that only know 30fps feel that 60fps is "sped up", which to them it is, twice the frames.
I own an OG Xbox, an Xbox one X and a years old PC (i7 4770k / PNY XLR8 1060 6gb / 16gb 1866) and I bet I can run any game better on the unoptimized pc ports they pull now better @1080/60fps than an Xbox one X. I know this because I've played most of the current gen games on both.
*I do agree that they should make a 1080@60fps available, water movement/turning radius, animations at 60fps look much more realistic, medium settings or not.
