Hi all, just had a blast in my first stress test so thanks for the chance to play!
I have a couple of questions, first;
If I hid a chest on an island how long would it stay there?
And
How long to explosive barrels float in the sea for if I put some in a particular place...?

Chests and Barrels stay for a good while, I've used hiding chests to save from losing them in battle.
Something I shall have to test next time I play I guess :)

Its a bit longer than that when floating. We were in a battle and sunk a ship at the same time as they sunk us and they had ~5 chests on board. As we fought in the water most of us got killed and re-spawned on our new ships. One of our crew survived and grabbed a chest and swam to the nearest island. He ended up getting killed by skeletons and it took us about 10 minutes to get back there. The floating ones were just disappearing when we got back.
Its much longer than that when on land. I hid a Captains chest on the tip top of the large rock outcropping on shipwreck bay? while we were under attack and our ship and the attackers ship were both sunk. It took us about 20 minutes to get back there and the chest was still there waiting for us.
@mdk-popinfresh Well if you grab a chest while it's floating and release it, that will reset the timer completely. Also, the 3-4 minutes is not taking into account the time it takes for a chest to float to the surface. Chests from a destroyed ship will spawn at the lowest point in the ocean where they went down and float back up, their timer begins once they reach the surface.
I'm not sure if there even is a timer for chests on land. I've gone back for a chest that I hid in a bush and it was still there over an hour later (and I left the biome completely as well).
