Have you tried lifting the lantern? If I remember correctly on Xbox is "RT" and on PC is "Right Click".@sneezedip This is the cave near the impaled skeleton on a tree on Canon Cove am I right?
As @El-Espectro-0 says... your lantern has a raise function if you haven't tried that already.

There is a cavern beneath the 'cannon' shaped rock protruding from the top of the island, go to the deepest part & raise your lantern high (equip lantern & the RT on xbox to raise it)
