Joining a crew mid session.

  • I didn't play the beta myself, but i watched more than 24 hours on Twitch, and this seemed to me like a glaring problem that should be fixable. Don't know if this has been adressed, if it has, please let me know.

If the 1 and 2 player ship, and the 3 and 4 player ship are the same, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to join a ship with an empty spot mid session, it doesn't make sense that you have to start a new crew, and drag your friend out of his game, to queu with you in the lobby, your friend should be able to invite you to his crew, without leaving the game!

  • @lightwindow3331 I had the same thoughts whilst playing the Beta. Hopefully it's something that will be in the full release.

  • This would have made the beta alot more enjoyable. I would usually be half-way through a single player voyage when my friend gets online. I then have to leave to join him on a two player ship - the same ship I was just on!

I believe this would alleviate a lot of stress on he matchmaking servers, as only one person would need to start the match making process after being invite to their friends game.

  • Inviting friends would be very nice, although servers have max player limits. so unless you are playing on a 2 man or 4 man ship with missing crew you would still have to leave. A 1 man ship, although the same as a 2 man can't just become a 2 man because of server size.

  • I disagree. The one man and wo man sloop are the same ship. I don't believe it would have anything to do with servers. And it that were the case, there is only one galleon option to select on the matchmaking screen so it should stand to reason that the 'server' is the same regardless of there being 3 or 4 people on that 'server'.

  • @JDWolfe You got a point, but I agree with @tyronius-89 it shouldn't make a difference, also it would make more sense if the servers capasity was based on ship count and not players.

  • What is worse is when playing on the Galleon, the rest of the crew leaves, then two get on and put you in the brig because they want you to leave the ship so their friends can get on.

  • @deadly-hawkins didn't know you could join the galleons mid session. They've already said there's gonna be 3 man ships, to adress some of that, but they should also give players the option to lock their crew, so nobody else can join, or just put all the solo players who wants to play with others together.

  • @deadly-hawkins
I/we did that the other day - actually we just asked the guy to leave, only to realise you CAN'T get on. So no, that's not worse, you just leave and find a crew that does want to play with you. Worse is not being able to play with your own friends..

  • If you wish to play with friends, you need to get them all together at the start screen. You cannot invite them in mid-voyage as far as I know.

  • @deadly-hawkins

You can join friends mid-session if you join them via the Xbox app. I have done this multiple times.

  • I've joined crews via matchmaking and they were mid-mission. They were glad of the extra cutlass against the Skeles. I'm on Xbox.

  • @m4ntis87 can you share with us how you did that?
i cannot figure it out on my xbox app
