Hey guys and gals, was just wondering if I needed anything to be able to hook the xbox controller to my pc like an adapter or something like that.
Xbox controller on PC?
@piratenathan27 The new ones have builtin Bluetooth so they will work with any computer with Bluetooth adapter. Just make sure the controller you are buying has the feature. The Sea Of Thieves controller has it, so no worries with that.
All controllers built after Xbox one S launch should have bluetooth.
You can make older controllers work with pc aswell, builing a special adapter https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/controllers/windows-wireless-adapter
To determine whether your PC has Bluetooth hardware, check the Device Manager for Bluetooth Radio by following the steps:
a. Drag the mouse to bottom left corner and right-click on the 'Start icon'.
b. Select 'Device manager'.
c. Check for Bluetooth Radio in it or you can also find in Network adapters.@piratenathan27 You don't actually need bluetooth capabilities to use an xbox one controller with a PC. Just plug the USB wire you use to charge it into the computer and into the controller and after it automatically installs the drivers, the light should go on and it will work like any PC controller. However you have to keep it plugged in. This is what I do, I suck with a mouse and keyboard.
@piratenathan27 I just realized you might not actually charge your controller, you might use batteries. There is still a mini usb plug you should find, right next to the sync button. You need to find a phone charger or something that will plug into that that ends in a normal usb. That wire will work the way I talked about before.
