we need npc crew

  • This game requires NPCs to accompany you on your ship journeys for those who play alone or with 2 players. It would be good if they can be purchased from somewhere or added to the ship customization. It is okay if the NPC does not have much damage, it is enough if it stays on the ship, helps with repairs and fills the large empty space inside the ship.

  • The toughest and smartest NPCs I've ever seen in Sea of Thieves so it would make sense

No it doesn’t. If your alone, that your choice. And if you have 2 on a sloop, that balanced

helps with repairs and fills the large empty space inside the ship.

    Yeah no.

Once again. Rare released something “the carrot” aka: Skeleton npc that help you on land and players want them on there ships.

    with 2 players.

Two players can handle a sloop fine without a npc third.

Even one player on a Sloop can handle the boat without help.

Npc helpers are not needed in game, play with real people if you can't handle the boats. It would lead to a better experiance and more fun.

I don't want to be playing against mixed crews of real players and Npcs. Sure the Burning Blade is that, but you expect it because it's a world event and you know it will have Npcs on board, and you don't have to battle it if you don't want to. The BB also takes time to get and is slow as hell and a sitting duck.

If I see a Sloop, Brig or Galleon coming I know it's got real players on board (how many is a guessing game), if it looks different then it's a world event like a skeleton ship.

Couldn't agree more, first step in a bad direction.

  • Requires? Just learn the proper priorities for repair and bilge stuff. In hourglass matches I often wait for my sloop to have water reaching the mid deck before I even start bucketing, and repairs are almost unnecessary unless a hole is tier 3.

  • I have no problem sinking galleons, brigs, and other sloops as a solo. It took experience, patience, determination, time, and many attempts before I got better at it.

Why do I need an AI bot on my ship all of a sudden now?

  • @europa4033 If we have all these supports we would never get better as players.

Exactly this, which is why I'm wondering why @sikortal thinks I need an AI bot to "help" me?

This is true. Too many players are not willing to learn to crew a boat properly, Npcs will only ruin the game in the long run.

I don't mind skeletons that can carry loot on islands, mainly because you had to interact with them to make them carry the loot etc.

I was very disappointed when I saw that they attacked players and other npcs on islands like ghosts and skeletons, this is where it's taking away combat and interaction from real players. When a player should be fighting all those things as a survival aspect.

Well, it's great that you have all the time in the world to get good. Most of us don't. Try to see his point through a casuals point of view.

Please don't presume to know my life first and foremost. Second, every game has a learning curve. You're not going to get better if you don't apply yourself, and while it doesn't happen overnight, it will happen. Having an AI bot on your ship that does everything for you, isn't the answer nor will it help players get better.

  • 100% agree since i solo more than play with others. weird that on the launch screen in game it shows the new reaper chest on the deck of a ship with the new ai skeletons on deck but on the new voyage all we can do is open the chest we cant bring it on board and the skeletons only live on the island they cant board the ship and die when we leave. either way with the speed at which the older players are now falling off this game and how fast new players have always abandoned the game we are rapidly approaching single player mode so i see all these changes as just laying the foundation for season 20 which i suspect will open everything up for availability on safer seas and rare will announce end of updates. though i guess it will all depend on how many new players the switch2 version brings in

Wishful thinking mate. All the systems in the game and how the game functions (server based) is simply not built for single player. That will just never happen.

Private/Dedicated servers might be something else, though I doubt even that will happen for the following reasons - it's hard to believe MS (even Rare) would waste resources=money for creating client side servers for players after retail servers shut down. There's also a matter of licenses for private/public server use, which could be an administration headache for both MS and Rare, including all the platforms the game is available on.

I'd love to be proved wrong though. Time will tell. But I still think they will just move on with either SoT 2, or some completely different franchise. It just makes more sense from the business perspective.
