Ways to "Save" a pirate body and switch back later.

  • I've been playing Sea of Thieves for five years, and I recently decided I want to change how my pirate looks. My problem, though, is that I've grown attached to how my pirate looks currently, and I don't want to just get rid of him permanently. My idea for a solution? Give us an option to have multiple bodies "saved", and let us switch them at the main menu. I'd like to wear a lot of the dresses that are added, but my current pirate looks absolutely terrible in one.

I say we get two or three 'slots' for a pirate look, and if those slots are filled and we want a new pirate body type, we'd need to overwrite one. This could, also, be used as a slight overhaul for how the Pirate Appearance Potion works - instead of regenerating your current pirate, simply fill an empty slot with a new one or overwrite an existing slot.

Notably, I am not asking to customize my pirate in the character screen - just to have the option of having multiple bodies. I am also not asking for multiple full 'character slots' with seperate progression - just being able to have multiple cosmetic pirates to switch between. Nothing would change with your current progression, unlocked cosmetics, or anything of the sort. Just being able to save and load a pirate's looks.

In my opinion, obtaining a pirate body should stay with the Appearance Potion, and changing them should take a moderate Gold/Doubloon cost on the main menu - additionally, having it be exclusively on the main menu would discourage exploiting the system (i.e changing to a lanky body to tuck more effectively), since you would have to leave the server in order to change.

  • I think the solution is to allow us to have more than 1 pirate, maybe 2-3 to select from just like we select our ships.

Ahhh...huh? You wanted to change but you grown to liking your current look. So, Why change to begin with?

I can answer that - some outfits and curses are better with specific looks than others. especially skeleton and phantom curses.

Take it from me - I have a pirate that looks really good as a skeleton, but going as a phantom feels off.

Having a pirate slot that you can switch inbetween would be a game-changer, especially with fashions.

  • @burnbacon for sake of looking for alternatives.
I would like to use/ buy chaning potion but only if I know that I can roll back.

Better question is - do you manualy type it or just copy paste most of yours contrarian posts?
