Better Gold Hoarder Vaults Please

  • This is one of those things that I think is known, but the loot from a Vault, even the Devils Roar vaults, do not compare well with some of the more recent choices we can do to make even more money. I submit that they should be buffed up some to match content.

For example, had a level 5 GH Emissary at level 5, and did a Captains Vault, crew of two. There were so many junky chests. Cleaned it out completely but missed the Chest of Ancient Tributes by seconds. After turn it the whole things with all of those chests... 35k. Does not feel balanced when I could go get a pretty red ball for a lot less effort.

They used to pay out closer to 80-100k when fully cleared out at level 5. I would like to ask that the Castaway, Seafarer, and Marauder chests be left out of something that is supposed to represent a vault for pure avarice. Captain's chests should be baseline. ... also if the wiki is right, why are Sailor's chests worth more than a Captain's?

  • Your not diving are you? I’ve cleared a vault, and I mean cleared it as a solo. No loot or treasure piles left and reach over 50-80k

I also feel like the vaults, especially if you end up with a stone key, can feel underwhelming.

But if you want some tips on completing them faster, grab only 1 medallion and place it into the plinth.

    Lets say you see Skull.

The very last shuffler, will only have 2 possible skulls on it, so rotate it to one that has a skull on it, and try the combination listed. if it doesn't work, try the second combination.

Sometimes there's duplicate symbols, so you need to check both of the other pillars, but this can be MUCH faster then finding all the medallions, and feels a lot like lock-picking / safe-cracking, which feels very pirate and in theme for a vault heist.

If you get 2 easy medallions, that's ideal, but 1 can still be fast.

By far, the thing that annoys me most about gold hoarder vaults, is the amount of time required to load up all the (nerfed) chests, that have secretly lower gold values then the chests you normally find of the same tier.

And the main reason they were nerfed, is people were short circuiting and stacking up multiple keys, which isn't a reason to punish people attempting to do the vaults the standard way, especially with the newly announced cooldowns on cancelling voyages over and over.

You don't even need the first medallion; as in your example the skull is the only symbol of the first pillar to appear twice on the fourth 😁.
