Supplies exploit, sharks and amount of flotsam on servers.

  • So I wonder for last few weaks there is a sharp rise of spawning sharks and flotsam add to this something like 20+ crates per resource exploiting ship and... and do this put additonal uncalculated strain on servers that make game so laggy recently?

If yes shouldn't there be some hard limit how much crates, flotsam and stuff should spawn per ship / per server?

    I love shark numbers tho.

  • When you say sharks you mean sharks and not megs right? (some people call megs sharks)

Because meg spawns (per boat) have been significantly worse than I have ever seen in over 5 years of hunting them. Like 2 and 3x more time consuming to get some spawns than in the past, on a regular basis.

as far as the lag and stuff goes I'd assume they've done a lot of testing on that, which is why so much tinkering has happened over the years.

  • @wolfmanbush I mean shark sharks :)

Probably they do but I personaly belive they rarley (heh) take existing exploit into calcuation so sudden influx of crates cloud push us right into laggy sea.

there are so many supplies in this game now they should just have that stuff despawn sooner rather than later.

Karma crates were cool when supps were low and when people could have some reasonable confidence in the legitimacy of the stuff in the karma crate.

Now it's all excessive and could just be exploited stuff.

Should just despawn it all out if it sits by itself for long.

  • @wolfmanbush now it's bunch of empty crates that are discarded near Merchant.

We catch up with real life so much that Sea of Thives has it own litters and pollution problems.

  • Not noticed increased sharks. I've probably seen more barrels floating but I think that's because the burning blade is on an increased spawn rate compared with other events and it spawns world event barrels (basic supps, in larger numbers, nothing like fish, no loot or kegs) in its trail.

I doubt crates have significant impact on server performance. I've done plenty of hourglass streaks and using ridiculous turkey walls don't seem to affect your ship. When you sink one and they float up you do get laggy waves while harpooning but the actual fight and general server doesn't feel affected by them.

  • @ghutar This particular issue can be solved by making a ''stocked supply crate'' option in the shop, since people just buy everything, put it all in the supply crate and leave the empty ones.

  • @hefty-henri soubds good, but prevetning supploce exploits would be nice too.
