Hello to everyone reading this post. I'm seeking your support in reviewing and contributing your advice or ideas on this topic. I'd like to express my opinion regarding obtaining currently unavailable in-game content, specifically the "Golden Sailor Cannons." In my opinion, it would be a great decision to allow players to replenish their arsenal with these exclusive and rare cannons! Currently, obtaining them is impossible, and they were only distributed once throughout the game, making them quite convenient. By 2024, the number of new players has increased, as well as the game's content, but there's still a lot of valuable old content that shouldn't be forgotten. So why not make this possibility relevant again?!

They were available twice. The first was in 2019 to celebrate the first anniversary of the game. The most recent was as a part of Marauders Medley in March 2023
https://seaofthieves.wiki.gg/wiki/Marauder's_Medleythey could come back, but it should be a few years, we are missing so much of the Golden Sailor cosmetics. It is better to add new ones to the game.
@bellbaberuth they are re-released as part of the their anniversary celebrations, giving players a chance to obtain them again. My advice? Wait till next year around March and you might get your hands on them.
Keep bringing back older cosmetics, particularly parts of older sets whose other pieces are still available for purchase in the shops.
While it's a good thing for completionists and newer players, it's mostly just really entertaining watching gatekeepers on here melt down every time it happens because it somehow "devalues" an entirely arbitrary and personal worth that person has placed on it based on how many other players DON'T have it.

That's not entirely fair. I think it's more to do with "give us something new" instead of the same old recycled & recoloured.
Personally I don't care if they come back again, they're a cool cannon.I'd love to see a Silver Cycle for these ship items too.
I just think putting desirable items behind commendations is a better way to do it, instead of twitch or a wknd event.Oh, I quite agree. Lock 'em all behind comms; I'm perfectly fine working for my cosmetics.
That was really more of a dig to those people during the Marauder's Medley anniversary event last year who howled impotently into the void that the re-release of anniversary cosmetics (nearly all of which weren't originally earned through challenges or tasks, but simply made available for a limited time) somehow retroactively ruined all the "hard work" they put into getting them by simply being online at a certain time and made them completely worthless to own and brought down upon the house of their forefathers a great shame and ruined the game forever, etc, etc.
As opposed to them being...you know...shiny paint-jobs for ship parts in a pirate game that have no intrinsic value at all.
I'm not saying we should bring back legitimately rare cosmetics like the Golden Legendary set, or the Captain Bones' Original Pirate Cutlass or any specific STANDALONE items that were awarded for doing something challenging or worthwhile during a specific event. Those are special and actually earned for doing something or having a certain goal by a certain date as a benchmark. I even agree with the Arena cosmetics being locked away as much as I wish I could've earned them myself.
But for full sets, specifically the original Forsaken Ashes, Bone Crusher or Wailing Barnacle sets that still have 50-75% of their pieces available in the shops to this day (and are STILL seeing parts added like the Wailing Barnacle pet outifts and Forsaken Ashes sword variants recently) and are just missing a few time-limited items that were only available to purchase from Duke for a short time...? There's no reason to gatekeep those. Put 'em behind comms with hefty price tags if necessary but make them possible to earn for all players to complete their sets.
