Drop Gold Pouches for Other Players to Take.

    I am sorry if this has been posted already or if I am posting in the incorrect area.

    When I play, I usually try to give away my treasure and help others on their way rather than selling it for myself - I find it more fun and it seems to make people's day. I have also accumulated a lot of gold because I do not purchase many cosmetics, however, I thought it would be fun if you could select an amount of gold and then drop a money pouch on the ground, such as when you kill a Skeleton Captain or on Animal Crossing.

    Then, another cremate or a crew member from another ship could pick it up and it would be added to their personal gold amount, or divided amongst their crew, what-have-you.

    This is just an idea and I don't expect it to happen. God bless, SoT Forum and thank you for having me!

    Some could even turn this into a bad thing. Picture someone attacked and they won’t scuttle but the other crew says they will leave them alone unless they pay up.

    Or brig in your own ship. Your crew wants you to pay up or you stay in there.

    This also opens the game to gold selling.
    You buy gold off some scummy website, they friend you, you log in in a crew, and they drop the gold.

    @guildar9194 True. Not my style, though, like Rocket League's buying system. The option to give more for those who want to would be nice. :)

    @burnbacon Similar to being put in the brig as a punishment until they leave. They can choose to not leave the game in the brigging situation or they can choose to not pay up in your situation.

    Interesting dynamic.

    @every-henry I don't know where you are from, but here in America, silly-billy isn't usually considered much of an insult. It's kind of a friendly playful term really. It's definitely not something we use for people we dislike.

    @polite-pirate Yes there have been previous discussions about this and here we call it "death tax". It is definitely something to be avoided as it will lead to frustration (spawn killing etc.) rather than enjoyment of the game.

    Well, I would enjoy it very much. Rare is good at trying keep things balanced. Maybe someday it will be added. :)

    @look-behind-you Totally agree, Sailor. You won't get any of that from me, matey. If you were referring to me, they thought I was trying to use a playful nickname as an insult when using it playfully was exactly how I meant to use it - haha. They just misunderstood was all and I wasn't upset.

    If Rare adds the feature I was suggesting, I'll drop some gold on the beach for them to pick up as a "no hard feelings" gift. :)

    @jrtad That you thought I disliked the person shows how cut-throat the internet is. How you told me to use it was exactly how I used it, actually. I would never insult someone, even if they disagreed. I said "silly-billy" and I even backed it up with a ":)" but it was still taken threateningly by you and the person I replied to.

    No worries from here, M8. I wasn't upset with either of you. :) I was just sharing a cool idea and then logging off. I don't mind if you disagree. I don't get bent about those sorts of things.

    Fascinating... They would have to make sure that couldn't happen if they do add the feature - that's for sure!
