Sovereigns in Safer Seas

  • @spinygoat610600

    Overall key thread take-aways :

    1. A tiny fraction of users have expressed interest is captained ships and sovereigns in Safer Seas.
    2. Rare has stated multiple times that there are no intentions of expanding features in Safer Seas.
    3. A vast majority of users agree with Rare's stance. (Because of critical thinking)
    4. All-in-all a great healthy discussion.

    Conclusions:

    1. Suggestions have been recorded in the appropriate forum.
    2. Rare's stance currently remains the same.

Good job everyone, best of luck !

    @captain-coel

When I look at how often you create topics of discussion versus how often you criticize other’s topics there’s a huge discrepancy.

You’re anti-alliance and anti-tall tales and anti-new ideas a lot of the time.

I'm not anti-alliance. I just dont alliance. I'm not anti tall tales, I'm anti tall tales that are sourced from 3rd party content. Heart of Fire is my favorite. I think the original 5 count for mindless repeating was a bit much bit with heart of fire they got the formula right. For me I root for things based on if it will help SoT be better and add to the experience vs being what I view as a waste of development time.

You’re not alone many act this way.

It can be disheartening when so many choose to only criticize others opinions and hardly ever create their own suggestions or feedback.

That being said, you’re entitled to your opinion as we all are.

I've been criticized and done my fair share of critiquing. It's all for a game we love. Most of my comments are rooted in keeping the feeling of SoT alive and well.

I still think captaincy can be added to safer seas without any harm to the high seas.

Some captaincy milestones will be not be achievable in safer seas due to the restrictions in the mode and that’s fine.

I don't think captaincy would change a whole lot. For me it's more that if you give SS captaincy, the next is more rewards, etc.

Sometimes I just wish the community was more empathetic and kind to other people, myself included.

Just one example where I feel guilty…

I strongly pushed for the removal of quick swap.

A lot of people are unhappy with this change.

And sword users didn’t get their exploits taken away.

I feel bad for the people who loved quick swap. I really do.

The difference is that the sword lunge was embraced by Rare during beta and quick swap has been considered an exploit from the beginning.

I dont like the state of combat right now. I do think the whole system needs to be overhauled from the ground up.

And after seeing how Rare picks and chooses what exploits they want to remove I kinda think quick swap should be back in the game.

It definitely hurt the game to remove it to some degree because it made some people very unhappy.

I've got many friends who still hate it. we dislike the combat but we adjust.

Again. Most of us are here because we love this game. There are good ideas and bad ideas. And sometimes there are ideas that can be tweaked to be better. Sometimes I'm just too much of a realist, but I've been here awhile and typed alot. Have a good one.

I will always push for captaincy in Safer Seas.
There's no valid reasons not too. Just the non-excuse of 'encouraging' players who hate PvP to go High Seas by keeping things they want away from them.

there is a valid reason and they have posted plenty of times in this forum. the game is meant to take place on high seas, not on safer seas.
