@wolfmanbush said in So... dont do Raid Voyages in this update.:
Everyone has their own style and flavor preference
just another flavor for piracy and opportunity to enjoy a style
This was a nerf to the amount of loot available across the board, with the exception of the Order of Souls (specifically bounties) which may have been slightly buffed, as it was already rather limited to begin with. This isn't just a "preference" or a "style", almost everything is less rewarding than it was previously, while under the guise of it being "more rewarding" because a few items are more expensive. The volume of loot has been decreased by 60-80% across most activities, while the value of items on average is only around a 40-60% increase. This is not including the addition of Kingly items, as they are not awarded from Voyages or Events. See the issue? These numbers don't add up to equal amounts.
Gone are the days of doing an X Marks the Spot with 20 chest dig ups across various islands. You now can only get 2, or 3, depending on your voyage choice. That's it. No more or less. Events that you dive to are giving 3-5 items, and the Strongholds are also having their Stronghold items removed by diving to them. Diving to a Sea Fort sees every random loot spawn gone, including Top Room loot gone. Diving to a Ghost Fleet is seeing every loot dropping ship drop 2-4 items instead of the previous like 5-8 items, except for the final ship, dropping 3-5 while also removing Ghost Cannonballs from the event. Just some examples for thought. Almost every single task in the game has been made severely less rewarding. Even these new "Hero" items don't make up for the loss, as that loss is in more than just loot itself but in commendations (stronghold items, Captain of the Damned Skulls) and sandbox tools (wraithballs) being removed from these events. The experience has been forever altered in a bad way.
Every Raid is a waste of time. They should be removed, or changed, in their entirety. If someone dives to an event on my server, it makes my server's event less valuable. That is disgusting.
If the idea was for them to "bring voyages in line with events" like they said it was, they severely missed the mark. Instead, they brought Events DOWN to voyage levels, after making voyages way less rewarding overall by removing the element of randomness from the table.
Making things worse overall was not the right call. Yet again we were lied to, intentionally or not. Games have been shut down and boycotted for less than the broken promises we keep being fed. Yet everyone will still flock to it's defense because that's what they do. Instead of having the nerve to say "NO. This is bad." Everything on paper, sounded great. In practice, it has fallen flat.
RARE, I love you. But this is bad, and something needs to change.
PS: Please fix the map grabbing lag spike problem.
