I would like to use colored lanters to curse weapons

  • I was thinking to new mechanichs for pvp and pve, that can crate more chaos during battles, and making them more fun. We have the lanterns from the Fort of the damned, maybe we can use their magic so we can course our weapons for one single special blow.
    I don't have the ideas creal yet, but my main thought was every time we curse a weapon the lantern turns normal and the weapon gets an effect from what color the lanter was, but once we hit someone (or we miss) our weapon turns normal again.
    I thought the effects could be like:

    • Purple Your opponent get poisoned for a few seconds
    • Red Your opponent get onfire
    • Pink You weapon deals 130% damage
    • Blue Your opponent gets blinded for a few seconds but they doesn't get harmed by the first blow
    • White Your opponent gets stunned for a few seconds but they doesn't get harmed by the first blow
    • Green Deals some minor damage to the pirates next the one who gets hit by the cursed weapon
      I would love to read if someone agrees and if you'd prefer others effects when unleashed the curse onto some poor pirate. Maybe some of you have already thought about it and are willing to shares your thoughts.

  • To be honest I am not a fan of adding features to non-naval combat.

  • @drackhon8528 we have cursed cannon balls which have been both nerfed and made far more rare and even then their very strong having similar that we could add to our weapons even for just one hit might be a whole new balancing issue just imagine a full crew all with the Pink Flame dmg boost just running aboard clearing your ship in a few secs without having a chance to fight back

  • Everyone will just use pink.

  • Could ot just make our sword glow without a special power...

    Be especially punny if you used a saber..

    No damage boosting stats please, give them all different effects related to which enemies the fires relate to instead.

  • Although it's a fun idea it's just too powerful, get a skull of destiny and you're laughing....
    I wouldnt mind cosmetic affects but I think the base gameplay/damage/balance should stick to the dev ethos of everyone on even footing (yes some things like curseballs go against this but look how nerfed they were when hourglass came in and their use became more prevalent).
