Golden sailor cannon re-release
We literally logged in and paid a measly amount of gold for them back then. Not like they actually had any real meaning to them. You still have your Captain Bones' Original Pirate Cutlass and Golden Sailor Hat, as well as some items that actually required effort to acquire - the regional sails, for example.

Those also required little effort or time to obtain - less effort and time than Twitch Drops even. They don't tell anything about your pirate or your adventures on the seas, other than you happened to log in during a specific window 4 or so years ago. There are plenty of folk who have barely played the game that have those cosmetics.
@da-and-ma so what? Do you run them exclusively on your ship all the time to flex? Unlikely. Don’t gate-keep, this is a time for celebration with all players. You still have your exclusives.
I have a consistently heavy encounter play style and play a lot, peaceful and hostile and even I only have a limited amount of encounters per day, per week, per month
Point? we don't even see many people in this game, does it really matter if people have cosmetics that were once rare and were not based on any significant effort? We rarely see each other organically.
all the log in stuff/drop, low effort/cost stuff is fair game imo
especially ship stuff because people just put stuff on for each other anyway, the only thing it changes is it gives access to people without social connections in the community and generally I am in favor of serving people from that group.
@da-and-ma they were never worth anything in the first place. When it boils down to it, your cosmetics are just 1’s and 0’s and have no value other than what you place on them.

If your worth in something comes from knowing that others didnt have them, then you should reassess why you like them. I have plenty of items that few people have, yet dont use them because i dont care that they are rare and others dont have them, i use only what i think looks good for the style i want.
If it wasnt for merricks jacket looking so piratey, i would still be running around with the fearless bone crusher set. This game is not about having stuff others dont have, its about using the cosmetics you think look nice.
@da-and-ma people like you are such a drag on the community god forbid new players are able to get access too ur precious time limited cannons I'm a veteran they don't deserve them it's funny I've been playing since season 8 and 50 bucks says I sink u no problem time played isn't always translated into skill I can tell how much of a loser u are by ur comment crying bc they made them available again for a time limited time so lame dude they should be available all the time
My outlook on this is much like Senority in Fire Departments. When you are the new guy/guys/gals/2023 you all sit around and discuss how senority is stupid and outdated and Everyone should be equal and split the work equally and lose the idea of “Senority”
Give that same FF 5 years and you’ll here them telling the new guys what their jobs are and how they don’t do that stuff as that is “new guy work”

In short re-release SOME things, but make them something to work for, like how gromany used to require some deeds to get your notch, not just log in.
I’m disappointed this holiday season, it’s just log in rewards, nothing to work towards, no limited items.
Cosmetics are a flex in this game, the only flex in the game. Let people flex some.
