Safer/Higher Seas is good, however...

  • Safer Seas is good for Newer Players, and Higher seas is great for casual players with max 20 players out on the huge map of sea of thieves.
However, Personally I find it "quiet" at times, and think it would be cool with a "High Stakes" where the max player count is doubled or even a little more just for the higher stakes of player encounters, which is by far the most fun experience of the game. At least just having the 3 different modes aviable so that there is perhaps a better "variety"

  • The servers can't handle that many players/ships

  • Personally I find it "quiet" at times

Allow me to search for “too many times I’ve been sunk while at outposts” or “Players sink me all the time”

It’s quiet depending on who you are or where you located it seems.

  • @chilly8491 So, what if there was a rivalry system? If you had 'rivalries active, your rivals and allies would auto fill your server to the dev desired limit as people were available to join. If not active you spawn normally like do now. It's an idea.

  • @chilly8491 I'd give a reward for targeting rivals also.

  • @burnbacon This is why my wife won't play at all anymore. To many times of logging in and being sunk before finding a banana or lumber. I'm trying to lure her back for safer seas. However I don't want to blame server density. She plays pvp games by other companies fairly often, but most have almost no story to engage with, unlike SoT. Lots of pvp but they are usually straight combat games and not quiet at all. Her other choices have passive modes if you just want to explore. She thought SoT was the latter type 😉

  • The action was much better with 6 ships on the seas and I believe they intend to bring that back. Not sure when the performance fixes are coming. Hopefully soon as I agree, the seas seem pretty dead.
