Chest of Ancient Tributes

  • This particular chest can be found throughout the Sea of Thieves, in Ancient Vaults located in all four regions, as well as in Shrines. That being said, I would like a Coral version to be found in Shrines and an Ashen version in Ashen Vaults. I think it would be a cool concept.

  • Agreed.

When they released the GH Vaults in the Devil's Roar, I immediately went and did one thinking it'd be an ashen Tribute Chest. I open the vault setting all the ashen loot and thought for SURE they had dubbed it... Solved the puzzle and...womp womp... What a real let down that was.

For that reason, I knew when they threw them in the shrines and treasuries but to get my hopes up that it was a coral variant.

  • That ashen one would be worth like 6k, right?

  • @darth-omnia honestly we need more reasons to sail in the devils roar

  • @sweetsandman Ashen Chest of Ancient Tribute and Coral Chest of Ancient Tributes would be a W

  • @otherfanboy Devils Roar has its perks lol, people just need to quit being cowards

  • @crowedhunter pricing is up to Rare to decide

  • @darth-omnia it's not that I'm afraid of it it's just when they add new stuff to the game the area gets left out for example the sea forts and underwater areas are only in the OG locations

  • @otherfanboy True, Fort of Fortune is another example, Molten Sands hasnt seen one

  • +1 I approve

  • @darth-omnia is molten sands even active it gets turned on and off so often I don't know anymore

  • @darth-omnia I agree. I also remember why it became so feared. It happened when Rare added the breakable masts. That's also why so many people are so afraid to carry kegs as well.

A tip to anyone who wants to sail in the Devil's Roar: the volcanoes erupt in a pattern. Yes, the earthquake indicates that a volcano might erupt, but if it just erupted it will not erupt again until the pattern comes back to it. Just listen for the telltale crack sound of the volcano and look for the telltale smoke that are warnings of imminent eruption. All ashen loot found in the DR is double the value of its normal equivalent. Also, due to so many people being afraid of the area right now you're more likely to encounter quieter/friendlier sessions.

  • @otherfanboy From what I understand, it only is available as a possible event if someone is sailing in the DR. It also isn't much better than a regular fort for the hassle of dealing with the volcano. However, it is fun to fight.

  • @darth-omnia said in Chest of Ancient Tributes:

@otherfanboy Devils Roar has its perks lol, people just need to quit being cowards

Weird because I thought "cowards" flocked to the roar, as it's usually pvp-free. The reason I don't usually head to the roar and pve is because it's it's dead zone with no attackers.

  • @unleet1 different definition of coward there champ

  • @unleet1 not cowards. Just people seeking a quieter session because it's rare that others are there. I sail there myself when I'm looking for a more relaxed session. Not everyone is seeking pvp in their session. The cowards are the ones who refuse to sail in the DR because they're afraid of the volcanoes.

  • Everyone here is a coward because not a single one of you is willing to fight me inside of an active volcano irl.

  • @crowedhunter It's quite expensive to get there ^^

  • @zig-zag-ltu "It's too expensive, Hunter." "It's not physically possible, Hunter." Excuses.

  • BAck to OP'sd original concept; I think if they added an Ashen Sea Fort variant the DR would see more traffic. At this point Im not sure why there isnt more DR content, but that would be the low hanging fruit imho

  • @soulstinger2k20 there is an active DR fort, unless you mean ghost forts

  • @darth-omnia Fort = Skelly Fort
    Sea Fort = Ghost Fort
    in common parlance

  • @soulstinger2k20 If they added an Ashen Sea Fort, it would be the single most profitable activity in the server. Ashen Chests of the Damned would be worth like 4k right?

  • The Roar has definitely fallen by the wayside and needs some additions

  • @xxx-link-xxx-12 Well to be fair, Ashen Vaults are still really good if you have a large enough crew. Ashen OoS quests are pretty alright too if you get small islands especially. But they are only really good if you're solo and have a bunch of treasure chests. Same could be said of vaults too though to an extent.

I think Athena is what need some more attention in the Roar. We need a renaissance in the roar. People just see it as that place where PVErs go to "hide". It should be seen as a riskier production area. Maybe it needs another kind of threat.
