Are there any plans to bring back old unobtainable sets?

Nope

They shouldn't be given again, they are rewards for players who collaborated with the game at a certain time.

Not everyone should have everything, people who have been here since 2018 have the right to have their exclusive things for supporting the game since its birth.

I am missing many cosmetics from 2019, I did not play that year and I consider that I do not deserve to be re-released so that I can get them, I was not supporting the product at that time, it is not a cosmetic that I deserve to have.

They are called "Limited and Exclusive" for a reason, so that only those players who show interest in having them get them.

"I didn't play at that time, it doesn't apply to me" You don't deserve to have it either, you didn't play so you shouldn't have something before your time as an active player.
The few of us who have Ferryman, we have it because the company was supported monetarily (some speculating on the internet) and it would be a total lack of respect towards us if the set were now given away in drops to people who did not contribute at the time.

Seasonal and exclusive things are so for that very reason, if you didn't get them at the time, bad luck, you shouldn't be able to get them again because it's disrespectful to the most veterans.

I think Rare has an ok balance with how they do it now. They've brought back a few items from the previous Seasons, things that were just part of the pass and not tied to any special event or anything. And they brought them back at relatively exorbitant prices, like 800 doubloons a piece, so there's a big incentive to just earn them when they come out.

But anything that's tied to a special event or time period, the stuff that actually tells a story like Wandering Reaper or the Adventure stuff, really needs to stay time limited.

@schaner85 the frozen horizon set is usually released during the Christmas period via Twitch Drops so there’s a chance it may come back. I think they’ve done it twice now, I missed out on the boots the first time but managed to complete my set the second time round.

@mrestiercol What is up with players gatekeeping cosmetics because they NEED to feel special? It's exclusionary and a toxic mentality. A new player being able to grind and earn OG Bone Crusher armor or any other kind of locked content has no impact on your personal experience with the game. OP is not saying hey, release all the old content for purchase, just give us a fair chance to earn them even if it's hard as heck.

Some people miss events because they work, some people are poor and have to wait a few years for a cool game to go on sale.

It's a game that should be open to all, everything, every aspect should be available to everyone who bought the game. I'm a "veteran" player since launch. Let the newbies have a chance to get the old stuff.

This isn't the military, it's a kids game. The whole crux of SoT is finding loot to earn cosmetics, that's part of the appeal, the fun, and a main gameplay component. As gamers we seriously need to knock it off with this whole idea of keeping items "exclusive" to punish other people who weren't privileged enough to be there.
