hitboxes

  • make hitboxes actually fit how they look. most importantly the cannon ball is way bigger than it looks and hits anything it goes within half a metre of.

  • Making hitboxes reflect actual character shape is a terrible idea for so many reasons. Chief among them would be metagaming...you'd have nothing but a bunch of stick figure pirates running around.

Cannonballs one-balling from seemingly anywhere has more to do with poor server performance than anything else. You're often times better off trying NOT to dodge the cannonballs.

  • @sweetsandman i dont care about character models, but the world should be interacted with in the same way it is perceived. and that's just about the worst advice iv ever heard for avoiding one balls. another thing that comes up a lot is bucketing out of the back of the ship, which sometimes just randomly decides to backsplash even when youre well over the barrier.

In a game where hit registration is more reliable than a coin flip, yeah, it would be bad advice.

You're playing a game where you could move half a sloop's length to either side, and might still get backtracked by the cannon ball.

Same reason why you randomly backsplash when you shouldn't. And get hit markers that don't register. And eat food that doesn't replenish health. And so on.

  • @theblackbellamy I cloud feed my extended family for a week by that foodreged pineapples and mangos from todays HG seasion.

  • @theblackbellamy don't patronise me with your clueless input

  • @l34fb70w3r to be honest he has some right with this canonnbals xD

  • @L34FB70W3R

Bwahahaha...just because you don't like the answers you're being given doesn't make them inaccurate.

It's friendly advice. Take it or leave it.

The only way they could make all the player hitboxes the same is if they made all the character models the same shape. Nobody wants that.

  • @sweetsandman bro youre just full of yourself, i never said anything about character models.. i dont care about them.. and its all you talk about

  • @l34fb70w3r

don't patronise me with your clueless input

They’ve been playing the game way longer than you dude, take some friendly advice and wisdom when you hear it.

bro youre just full of yourself

Also try not to be so aggressive responding to those offering criticism.

  • While we're on the topic of hitboxes matching models like OP has been talking about this entire time, we should talk about how Meg's nose just phases bullets and cannonballs through. It's annoying enough when one charges at a bad angle but sometimes the waters keep you too high for anything but a nose shot and you miss it because Meg noses are immaterial.

  • @tesiccl and i probably have more hours than both of them combined... if you cant see the over arching theme of patronising dismissal to the suggestion iv made, and continuously responding to a point that i didnt even make.. then youre surely blind

Y'know, I was gonna wolfmanbush my way out of this thread but then you had to say something easily falsifiable, so I looked up your 94 days to my 238 (on my main). And I've played this game once in the last 4 months haha.

3x T/LSD. There's a lot of stuff I'll openly admit to being clueless about, even in SoT. Unfortunately, hitreg isn't one of those things.

I would've spent time dismissing your suggestion but I had nothing to add to what sandman said, and so I just upvoted his comment and replied to your goofy rebuttal. Imagine. 94 days and thinking that getting backtracked by a cannonball is because of its hitbox.

Anyway. Sorry if that was patronizing, sport.

  • @theblackbellamy picks up your mic - “hey you dropped this!”
