Sea of Thieves for Play station

  • I know sea of thieves is a Xbox exclusive game but there are not enough active pirates.
I think that Sea of Thieves should be available for Play station users to reach more players and fill the servers.
Play station users should get a cosmetic pack like the Xbox one so they know if they are enemies just by looking at the cosmetics.
But because it's a Xbox exclusive game I think that who plays on Xbox should have the ability to create custom matches to play just with friends without making gold (just to have fun) or get 500 ancient coins as soon as they get in the game the first time.

  • @cianela99 there are plenty of active pirates. Dedicating massive resources to possibly strengthen the numbers seems like a huge waste of time and money.

  • @tesiccl how can it be a waste of money if they will have more players to buy items.

  • Don't hold your breath.

  • So a request to make an Microsoft exclusive game crossplay on a completely different platform that Microsoft doesn't even have enough control of, and a subtly disguised PvE server request.

Now that's a two-fer I was not expecting to see today.

  • @nex-stargaze you know that custom matches are already a thing right?

  • @foambreaker ?

Yes, this game has custom servers. They are not available to the public, and are only available to developers, Affiliate Alliance admins, and Partnered content creators for the game. There have been no major announcements of improvements to this function or the status of their alpha state, at least, not since the original post Joe Neate made on the forums way back when.

  • know sea of thieves is a Xbox exclusive game but there are not enough active pirates.

    What makes you say that?

It not just Xbox, it’s windows. So pc included

  • Talk to Microsoft, I doubt Rare has much say in the matter.

Also porting a game over to a whole different console would not be a high priority as it brings many MANY issues and bugs, and Rare can barely deal with the ones we have now.

  • I want bloodborne for xbox

  • @cianela99 contradicting yourself a bit here, not enough active pirates, but also let the current population hide in private servers

  • @cianela99 what do you mean there aren’t enough active pirates?

Sea of Thieves isn’t an MMORPG, there are only ever 6 ships max on a server, with a limit of 16 players.(note this can temporarily go up when an hourglass battle is happening) So if there were 4 galleons, that’s it.

But you could have a Galleon, 2 brigs and 3 sloops easily.

Besides: Rare has been owned by Microsoft since the early 2000s so it’s highly unlikely they will make a PlayStation game… especially with how Sony was pushing back on Crossplay games.

  • @cianela99 Not enough active players? Statistics say otherwise as the game is still one of the most played games on Xbox. And your PVE request isn't going to happen....and result in the topic being locked as this has already been set in stone by the developers.

    And for your proof:

  • I like the whole adding sea of thieves to Playstation thing but the rest is a little too much

  • @hiradc they will only go in private servers to tdm or to mess around, private servers don't make you monkey so they will not

  • @reverend-toast if you join a server it's very unlikely you will find a full server, I usually go in servers and there are only 3 ships counting mine

outside of bugs that can cause issues with filling servers (not any major ones that I've seen currently)
this is far more a varied interest thing than a "not enough people thing"

Overall varied interest is higher right now than it has been in quite some time, which is why events are more consistent, fights on servers are more common, lots of the ships are captained, more emissary use, fotds/roar activity, etc

Healthy server activity doesn't mean every server is booming that will be random but it's also necessary, servers where people go for hours mostly peacefully is necessary for healthy risk/reward.

HG is built around quicker action but the foundation of adventure was never built around quick action (even though that became a popular style). It requires server investment and there will be chill servers and wild servers, that's all alright as long as interest is varied.

When you are on "dead servers" that's largely just random spawning where people are either hopping which can slow down a server or people are around they are just sneaking around, etc

A solid way to keep action going for people that want quicker action is to take a dive in HG, win/lose have that fight, read the server then either invest in that server or fight again, rinse/repeat

  • @cianela99 If you see a Reaper's chest (Apart from FotD) there are at least 3 ships on the server. Many a Time I know there are several ships on the server cuz I can count the little wooden ships on the emissary tables. (NOTE: Not all players fly emissary flags)

However you should never truly know how many ships are on a server, since its impossible to see ALL of them unless they are all within silhouette render distance.

If you joined a new server, other ships will come in as time goes by... and as ships leave others will come in, etc.

The whole reason server Merges happen is so they can cut a server operating, and merge those crews on an empty server that they aren't shutting down. When more crews join in, they will be placed in an empty slot, or if there isn't one they will start a new server.

But really, the only way you can be sure how many ships are on the server is if Reapers chests are spawning, or you have server access details.

  • K you email Sony and get The Last of Us on Xbox...I'll email Microsoft about SoT on PS.

    Ready....GO!

  • @reverend-toast Or you see them all - map table for Reapers Emmisary/Mark and line of sight for others not marked. Over the weekend I could easily see most if not all ships on my servers - one had 3 Reapers working in tandem and I spied 2 others in the distance not marked (Xbox only servers), thus a full server even on the less popular Xbox ones. Definitely no lack of players as the OP is trying to portray as my previous post on this topic also shows (40 top played games/week).

  • @reverend-toast i didn't know about the reaper chest, thanks for telling me!!

  • @cianela99 playstation exclusives on xbox please
