Love this game and love pvping, but what kills it is when i can never hear people boarding my ship and they have such a huge advantage. when will devs fix this?
When will silent boarding get fixed?
@burnbacon yeah i got headset with sfx at 100 so i hear everything crystal clear but today during several HG matches I've been boarded and heard nothing, just a blunder to my back

@goldsmen i know they fixed the harpoon boarding but im talking about silent ladder boarding
Im talking about silent boarding as well, harpoon boarding was fixed only days ago, silent boarding was fixed weeks ago, and any time i have tried to silent board it seems im still heard, so it does check out. So unless some one found another method to do so, it should be gone.
@goldsmen ah interesting. i've asked on the discord too and others said they've still seen it so maybe a new method is out. maybe there's an audio setting specifically for boarding that im missing? cuz like i said my sfx is on 100
@lm-helm I'd hardly call it a skill gap. The original method of silent boarding was not hard to pull off, literally click 1 button. The splash is present for balance purposes. Audio ques are a large part of the combat in SoT. If you're boarding before causing chaos on a ship then the splash gives you away so you can't just get easy boards on players. The intended way is to first damage a ship through naval, then board when crews are distracted.
@callmebackdraft It's not only the boarding that is affected. I also have that you won't hear the loud horn when a FoF spawns... Seems to be part of a bigger issue?

Or skill/patience to wait for a cannonball hit, gunshot, anything loud enough to mask the sound, too.
