You are out of touch with the player base. You need to sort out your priorities and make the game worth the time investment you demand with all this constant slow paced grinding.
First of all the hourglass is a terrible gut wrenchingly bad toxic mode full of cheaters, the game does not need or want it. Why you chose to put this in the game and lock the most requested content behind it shows you are out of touch with the majority of players. Didn't the low arena numbers show you anything about how much people DO NOT care about this games horrible PvP system? Theres far more people asking for PvE servers and PvE content than there will EVER be asking for PvP because people KNOW its broken, bad and not fun. Yet you are quick to close down those people yet force people into PvP, something nobody in their sane mind wants to do.
what you SHOULD be working on is a complete combat overhaul so maybe people will consider PvP, you can't jump straight to PvP modes without considering the current state of combat.
the game has been out for 5 years and its still clunky and unresponsive, There is no reason for it to be this bad. Its not even nice to use in PvE never mind PvP. I want to know the development teams stance on why they find this system acceptable and why its never been updated to current gaming standards?
a PvP heavy game should have a fluid system that works, the lack of such a system on this game is its main downfall.
sword combat is literally spam M1 with clunky concrete beams, block doesn't exist or work if you attempt to use it.
gun combat is literally M1 in someones face to one shot with blunderbus, RNG permitting with the broken hit reg of course, EoR is clunky to use and hardly ever registers clear hits and you never ever get a chance to shoot at ranged anyway because fighting is always on small decks. Pistol doesn't exist, nobody uses it.
Dying puts you in a spawncamp loop still to this day, another huge issue that has never been addressed, and no scuttling is not the fix for it.
the combat is so unbelievably shallow a toddler can paddle in it. Why is this the case in a modern multiplayer game? no other game I have played has combat this bad and has a forced PvP obsession to go along with it.
Before anyone chirps in with unconstructive replies, I average around 53-66% weapon accuracy in FPS and have played in top 10% rankings so its not an issue on my end, skillwise I am very capable of holding my ground in FPS combat, but on this game? no chance. The underlying issue here is the game itself.
I desperately beg that the dev team just realises the main issues with the game and actually gives the game somewhat decent working combat to go along with the wonderful art and atmosphere. I can't discredit the art team they nailed it, the combat programmers have a long way to catch up, but its not too late but they need to start ASAP and roll out an overhaul for the next season.
so RARE please, get a discussion going at your office and look at other modern games for inspiration if you must and make the combat good, then we can look at playing PvP modes.
