Renown gain becomes useless past level 100, so to give a feeling of progression past the plunder pass I think Sea of Thieves should have consistent gold and doubloon rewards for levels beyond it, and with every 50 levels containing a handful of ancient coins. The team doesn't have to put more effort into designing more cosmetics past 100 levels, and crews will continue to feel like they're working towards a larger goal beyond their voyage.

Maybe even have it where you have to cineplexes trials to actually earn renown?The only people this would positively impact is the dedicated players among us. This would be absolutely terrible for the casual playerbase and probably turn a lot of folks off from the game completely.
Season 9's Renown progression was hilariously fast...but that's not too much different from past seasons where the dedicated playerbase finishes in less than 2 weeks and keeps playing anyways.
Making a progression system beyond level 100 that simply provides gold/doubloons would be a nice touch for the dedicated players.
@lordqulex I guess that's fair, but I was thinking a small amount of ancient coins was fair for 50 levels, especially if the progression slows down over time. They're already giving the stuff out with ancient skeletons
I'll be honest I've never been motivated to play by the passes, they're kinda a bonus that I naturally get without any specific effort. I don't mind this being implemented but I'm not sure the implication of trying to bribe the playerbase into sustained playing. Personally I enjoy the game and play regardless so I wonder for people that don't feel the same, giving additional gold etc is it going to make a difference? Its your ability to shape your own experience in unique and entertaining ways that is the true potential here

I dunno, I don't even worry about gold or commendations or whatnot. I just enjoy being in the game, chatting with the crew, doing whatever.

You'd be surprised what you can accomplish with bribes... with the new voyages for skulls and cursed chests, a stash of doubloons every so often would be pretty nice...
I'm fatigued. I like seeing the numbers go up still, but less numbers go up. There are things beyond the Veil that have lots more numbers going up.
