Sea of thieves on Unreal Engine 5.1

  • Is it possible to switch to the new Unreal Engine 5?

    1. Nanite - Add perfomance, may solve the problem with adding a new ship (6 or more ships)
    2. Lumen - Add cool Lighting, shandow and reflection
    3. ODSC (On-Demand Shader Compilation) - On-Demand Shader Compilation compiles only the shaders needed to render what is seen on screen in the editor, and optionally during platform development iteration. The result is a drastic reduction of shaders being compiled, especially on large projects.
    4. TEMPORAL SUPER RESOLUTION
I really don't know if the old xbox one can run.
I realy hope for Rare. Thanks.

  • @fewartdragon

or - hear me out: Focus on server performance and cannonball, chainshot bullet and sword hitreg problems instead? Maybe?

Possible is the one thing. Reasonable effort is the other. I'm not a game dev but hey.

  • @axecaliburtv Pretty sure that this is way easier than the whole engine change for a company that is not as big as Epic Games, plus who knows maybe hitreg would get waaaay worse on the new engine
