New Conchshell Horn to summon mer.

  • Title^

I don't want to swim around looking for my mer only for it to be 100 yards in the opposite direction of where i've been swimming.

Just let me pull out a conch horn and toot it to summon a mer right next to me.

No more mers ruining my attempt at boarding people from the ladders! :D

Rare, plz balance this idea and implement it asap.

There it is...a Tucker/Boarder upset because mermaid gave them away.

  • @burnbacon

i mean, not really tbh. It's mostly the swimming part. o.o

When i board someone i usually just ram my ship into theirs and jump aboard. Or cannon myself onto the deck.

That is slavery at that point.

The merfolk are not your servants. Ramsey saved one of them from some double gunning tryhards so they return the favour by helping pirates lost at sea when they are passing by.

  • Been asking for this for four years glad I’m not the only one.

  • @thorumsu

Ehh... then if a soldier radios for a chopper, is the choppers pilot a slave?

That doesn't make sense, it's just signaling your ally for rescue/pickup.

You don't pay the mer do you?

  • @thorumsu

The soldier doesn't pay the pilot either.

Ramsey bargained/paid the mer. The army or country paid the pilot.

Ramsey saved one of them. They don't serve you for that. They help you when they are passing by.

Besides, the whole reason the lore is written like that is to keep the gameplay balanced. This comes from someone who enjoys tucking more than they should.

  • @thorumsu

    Shrugs

Lore exists to serve the game, the game doesn't exist to serve the lore.

If my suggestion would make for a better gameplay exp, then the lore can be changed/added to to explain it.

That is exactly what I said. The lore is written like that to keep the gameplay balanced.

They don't completly serve you so that they can give you away while boarding and all the other "problems".

  • @thorumsu

It's really not what you said though.

Your arguing that the game is the way it is because of lore and that we shouldn't change it, even if that change would make the game better, because it goes against the lore.

I'm arguing that the game would be better a certain way and that the lore can be changed to suit the new tool/mechanic.

But meh, you do you i guess.

It's not like i have to convince you to implement this kind of thing into the game.

  • How about: no, mermaids are fine

  • @schwammlgott
Sure, it's your opinion after all.

  • Additionally it would be nice to not have the "sea snitch" spoiling your sneak players. Having the mermaid auto spawn even when you're on land isn't cool. Imagine how much harder it would be to figure out someone was being sneaky if on your many scans of the surroundings you didn't see a mermaid as a blatant giveaway that someones lurking.

  • Even if all they added was the summoning bit without changing ANYTHING else about how the mers work, i'd be happy.

I just really wanna stop 360ing around searching for the blue smoke.
