Safe Box

  • Equip the boat with a safe box costing 1,000,000 for captained ships, to store all the treasures, when it arrives in port, a new npc can charge 10,000 gold to sell everything that is in the safe box, the safe box can be looted by another crew if the ship is sunk, the idea is not to sell the treasure item by item, pay to do so, but only if the ship is captained, you can even tell him to sell the treasures to the emissaries separately

  • Nope. No more nerfing to the selling. Its way to easy/fast to sell with the new Sovereigns (or what they are called). Other pirates need time to steal your stuff when you sell. Lets not remove the excitement of loosing stuff when you sell. Also you need to guard your loot when sailing so no tuckers can steal your stuff. Also if you had a safe you could store different gunpowder barrels in it, making the safe way too over powered.
Yeah, i did read the thing about loot being released if sunk.... but still a BIG NO.

This "idea" would disturb the balance even more.

    Remember:
50% of the value of the loot is the risk on loosing it.
No loot is yours before you sell it. (So no safe place for it during transport.)

  • safe box costing 1,000,000 for captained ships

    Good lord...

to store all the treasures, when it arrives in port, a new npc can charge 10,000 gold to sell everything that is in the safe box

    oh my goodness...

the safe box can be looted by another crew if the ship is sunk

Seems to be a waste of gold if you ask me if you can get the same affect by just idk...storing them on ships without a safe box.
So far you want to put items into a box, go to an npc and whatever is in the box, PAY 10,000 gold to sell...what 4,000?

the idea is not to sell the treasure item by item

So you want to waste gold to sell gold....Im confused.

  • @szenn1 what exactly is it you're trying to accomplish with this idea? At first it seemed like an anti pvp device (which would be a no)but if sunk it comes up anyway, are you under the impression there are people that take your loot that wouldn't be able to sink you?

  • @szenn1

No safe zones. You're asking for a safe zone.
    Hell no.

  • There already is one in the game, its called the siren vault statues where you store the treasures you get from them. I have seen posts of people using them to store valuable treasure they want to keep with them when they portal hop and I am sure this has been reported to rare as an exploitable feature in this regard.

  • @ghostfire1981

No loot is yours before you sell it.

Hmmm the loot is yours if it's on your ship. If you sell it lets say to the Reapers at that point you no longer own it becomes the Reapers loot.

  • The idea is solid but, it would need to be a bit more in depth.

Loot is all that can be stored, only items sellable to the gold hoarder.. no skulls, or kegs, or merchants items.

    10% isn't a bad idea, something is worth 300 they get 30.

1,000,000 gold to purchase it is a bit much. Instead have it cost ancient coins or dubloons. Most likely AC's so that you have to pay to get it, not just pay gold. Say 999 AC which would he $9.99.

The concept of it rising back up if you get sunk is applicable, except that it's now a digital currency inside a vault/chest. Instead make it a "generous gift" of sorts at the value of your safe/vault.

There could be an additional npc you could sell to, but not at an outpost. Give them, similar to a seaport, a small island or area that they are in. The reward would be selling it, the risk is there's only ONE per server, so other players may skulk nearby in wait to sink you similar to how they do the veil or the TT's.

  • Keep all your loot on rowboat, dock rowboat at sovereigns to sell. About as close to fast instant selling that you are gonna get without overhauling how stealing loot works.
